Job Title:Commercial Service Agent (CSA)

Department: Insurance Operations/Trucking

Reports To:Regional Manager

Summary

This position is responsible for providing insurance and other services to our existing customers and new customers with special emphasis on trucking lines of insurance. This position may also market products and services to new and existing accounts. This position works closely with the Commercial Account Managers/Producers of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Prepare schedules, reports and applications.

Assist in preparation of renewals and new business quotes.

Maintain and update policy information on system.

Send information to company underwriter to issue new and renewal policies.

Issue policies, binders and invoices and send to clients with a high level of accuracy.

Assists in the preparation of materials for presentations done by the Commercial Account Manager/Producer.

Check policies upon arrival for accuracy.

Answer customer’s questions and concerns promptly.

Maintain good relationships with clients, fellow employees and insurance company personnel.

Assist accounting department with any concerns about billing situations.

Review incoming mail.

Participate in continuing education toward professional designations and attend other insurance workshops and seminars as required to maintain a good knowledge of insurance products and issues.

Have a good knowledge of all insurance policies and bonds offered to KFSA clients.

Keep informed and comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in company handbook.

Any other duties specifically assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training are helpful but not required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word word processing software, and Microsoft Outlook time management software. Knowledge in Clouds and CD-One is helpful but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Life & Health Agent's License (willing to obtain)

Property & Casualty Agent's License (must be willing to obtain)

Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations (not required, but helpful)
