International Arrivals Facility

Sealed bids for the construction of an International Arrivals Facility adjacent to the Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) facilitywill be received at the office of the Director of Aviation, BurlingtonInternationalAirport, 1200 Airport Drive #1, South Burlington, Vermont, until 2:00 pm, October 9, 2012local time and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed project involves constructing a new facility for arriving international air passengers to provide shelter while they are waiting for ground transportation after having cleared through Customs at the existing CBP facility located near Aviation Avenue in South Burlington. The proposed building will be a 24’ x 40’, one story, shed roof structure constructed on a frost protected slab. The building will not include restroom facility and no water supply or wastewater systems will be required. Heat will be provided by a gas area heating unit. It is proposed that the project will be completed by mid-December, 2012.

Copies may be obtained at Blueprints, Etc., 20 Farrell Street, So.Burlington, VT with a non-refundable payment of $100.00 for each set.

APre-Bid Conference- will be held on Oct 3, 2012 at 10am at the site, east of Heritage Aviation, off Aviation Ave in South Burlington.

City of Burlington Bidder’s Pre-Qualificationsforms are required and must be submitted to BurlingtonInternationalAirport, Administration Office, 1200 Airport Drive #1, South Burlington, VT by Oct 5, 2012 at 2pm.

The Board of Airport Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to make the award that is determined to be in the best interest of the Owner. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of 60 days following the bid opening. A certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than 5% of the bid price for the Contract work will be required from each bidder.

Please note that the Board of Airport Commissioners is committed to ensuring that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) firms participate to the maximum extent possible in all work at the Airport. Also, the contractor on this work will be required to comply with the Equal Employment requirements of the City of Burlington and provisions of the City’s Livable Wage Ordinance.
