Tips and Troubleshooting

To help ensure a more reproducible setup please review the following tips.

  • Placing tattoos on the hips is generally a stable treatment position strategy. Often the central axis of treatment is on the hips, however shifts can be made from the tattoos. Example, setup on tattoo and shift 10cm superiorly.
  • Set a lateral SSD, rather than depending on an anterior tattoo.
  • It is recommended to take a daily AP pre-port.
  • During the first week of treatment a daily LAT pre-port is recommended but often not required beyond the first week due to consistency in table height. The required shifts are visualized on the daily AP pre-port.
  • Placement of the K-Belt can generally be reproduced by positioning the device at the top of the iliac crests.
  • If the K-Belt begins to slip at some point during the course of treatment, clean the non-slip band with an alcohol wipe to remove accumulated oils.
  • If a patient is stretcher bound or difficult to position with the belt on the table, place the belt around the patient’s abdomen before transferring them to the treatment couch. Once the patient is on the table open the belt and proceed with the directions on the User Instruction Sheet.
