Lesson:Day 1

(List website on board)

  • Remind students to not leave the Naviance web-site
  • Ask students to access the Naviance website
  • Hand out individual identification cards &/or assist with usernames from list
  • Demonstrate how to access a student’s page and enter the password on the card.
  • Ask students to change their username and password and usetheir most frequently accessed email for their username.
  • Ask students to record their new access info on their ID card.
  • Review every useful link on left-hand menu.
  • Demonstrate how to request a transcript (transcripts), sign-up for a college visit (visit schedule), (inbox) etc.
  • Demonstrate the “College Search” option
  • Direct students to complete the Junior Pre-Test
  • Distribute handout “Junior Presentation”
  • Review all bullets on handout and answer questions

Lesson: Day 2

  • Direct students to the Junior Questionnaire link.
  • Hand-out transcript copies to each student and ask students to complete the questionnaire.
  • Direct students to the “My Resume” tab.
  • Explain how to open and complete portions of the resume builder.
  • Direct students to complete each portion of the resume builder.
  • Explain to students that they will be given a grade for completing their “My resume” portion and printing a copy to be turned in to the teacher.
  • Direct students to complete Junior Post-Test
