Junior Panhellenic is a branch of the Panhellenic Council at the University of South Florida. The purpose of Junior Panhellenic is to provide a voice for new members of the Panhellenic community, to increase Panhellenic awareness, and to learn the leadership skills necessary to become a positive and proactive member of the Greek community. Members of Junior Panhellenic have the opportunity to plan an all Panhellenic philanthropy event and an all Panhellenic sisterhood event. The experiences you receive in Junior Panhellenic will give you the preparation you need to become an active member of your own Chapter as well as in the Panhellenic Council.

The following are the expectations that apply to EVERY member of the Junior Panhellenic Executive Board in addition to the specific positional responsibilities listed below:

  • Remain in good standing with the university (academic, conduct, housing) and with your chapter (financial, academic, conduct)
  • Complete all tasks and programs within established timelines
  • Attend all bi-weekly meetings of both Junior Panhellenic Executive Board meetings at 7:45 pm and Junior Panhellenic Council meetings at 8:00 pm on Wednesdays before Panhellenic Meetings.
  • Attend all meetings of the committees or groups in which you are appointed to as part of your position
  • Remain in contact with the Junior Panhellenic Director and any other Panhellenic officer as stated by your position.

President

  • Responsible for presiding over all Council and Executive Board meetings.
  • She will attend every Panhellenic Council meeting and give a report of business when applicable.
  • The President is also responsible for setting up communication (Facebook, List serve, etc.) between the Executive Board and the Council members.

Vice President

  • Responsible for running all Executive Board and Council meetings in the President’s absence.
  • She is in charge of coordinating committees and committee events of the Council.
  • She is responsible for ensuring the participation of all of the delegates in a committee.

Secretary

  • Responsible for taking minutes at the Executive Board and Council meetings.
  • She is also responsible for collecting and evaluating excuses with the President.
  • She is also responsible for compiling a contact list of the Executive Board and Council members.
  • The Secretary is also responsible for collecting reports the day before meetings and making an agenda for each meeting. The agenda must be presented at the Executive Board meeting prior to the Council meeting.
  • Minutes must be sent to the Panhellenic President and Greek Life advisors biweekly. Minutes must also be printed out and kept in the Secretary binder.

Treasurer

  • Responsible for all finances of the Council.
  • Meets with the Vice President of Administration on the Panhellenic Council to receive reimbursements and updates on the budget.

Community Service & Philanthropy Chair

  • Responsible for organizing and planning a community service event, as well as a philanthropic event.
  • She is responsible for getting all of the delegates involved in any events.

Public Relations Chair

  • Responsible for promoting Junior Pan in apositive way.
  • She is responsible for making any flyers and/or Facebook event groups for any upcoming events.

Sisterhood Chair

  • Responsible for planning a sisterhood event, where new members from all eight sororities can attend.
  • She is responsible for remaining in good contact with all the delegates.
