Junior High String Orchestra Day at AltoonaAreaJunior High School

Dear Students and Parents,

The Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School string orchestra has been invited to participate in a “string exchange” with Altoona Area Junior High School on Monday, October 24th. Students will rehearse together as a combined string orchestra during the school day and then present an evening concert for family and friends. The following is the schedule for the day:

  • Students arrive at school at the regular time and attend homeroom, 1st period, and part of 2nd period.
  • At 9:00 AM, students will report to the orchestra room to get their instruments and belongings. We will board the buses around 9:15 AM.
  • Students will need to bring:

Instrument – must be labeled with student’s name and school

Music, rosin, shoulder rest or rock stop if needed

Wear jeans and HAJHS Orchestra T-shirt

Bag lunch and drink –labeled with student’s name and school

10:00Rehearsal

12:20Lunch – students need to bring their own bag lunch including a drink

1:00Mini-Concert – Penn State Cello Ensemble

2:00Rehearsal

5:00 Pizza dinner – will be provided by Altoona/Hollidaysburg Music Parents – no charge

6:00Tune

6:30 PM – Concert for family and friends at: (Free Admission)

***Parents are expected to attend the concert and to provide transportation home after the concert for their own child. Hollidaysburg will NOT be providing any transportation after the concert.***
