Agendarefer to .

  1. Richard Kennedy (RIM) is the chair of the group.Peter Ecclesine (Cisco) is the vice-chair of the group.Chair had a problem connecting to the conference call system. Vice-Chair called meeting to order: 10:05pm EDT.
  1. Agenda of the teleconference is reviewed and approved with unanimous consent.
  1. Introduction
  2. Vice-Chair welcomed participants to the Task Groupteleconference.
  3. Vice-Chair introduced the officers of the group.
  4. Chair: Rich Kennedy (Research In Motion)
  5. Vice-chair, Technical Editor and Webex Facilitator: Peter Ecclesine (Cisco)
  6. Recording Secretary: Zhou Lan (NICT)
  7. Vice-Chair reminded participants to record their attendance by sending mails to , and .
  1. Administrative items
  2. Vice-Chair presented the links for the documents related with the administrative items.
  3. Vice-Chair reviewed the patent policy and meeting guideline slides. Is there anyone who is not familiar with the IEEE Patent Policy? None.
  4. Vice-Chair asked: Are there any patent claim(s)/patent application claim(s) and/or the holder of patent claim(s)/patent application claim(s) that the participant believes may be essential for the use of that standard? None.
  5. Vice-Chair reviewed other guidelines for IEEE WG meetings.
  1. Vice-Chair reviewed the PAR Scope and Purpose, Purpose, Principles and Vision/Outcome.
  1. Jae-Hyung Song (LGE) reported the status of the GOF meeting(June 15th) for the PHY and channelization related comment resolution.
  2. Jae-Hyung Song summarized that there are consensus reached only on two comments (#2, #118), others still need more discussions.
  3. Peter Ecclesine suggested first having offline discussion with the commenter of comment #15, #16, #17, #18, and then bringing them back to the TG discussion.
  4. Padam Kafle (Nokia) asked why some suggested resolutions say that the decision has to wait until11REVmb changes.
  5. Peter Ecclesineresponded D0.03 is based on REVmb, it is an incomplete synchronization with REVmb.
  1. Eunsun Kim (LG Electronics) presented document 695/r2.
  2. Padam Kafle asked about the difference between this proposal and the basic measurement report in D0.03.
  3. Peter Ecclesine responded basic measurement report is inherited from 11h and it is optional.
  4. Padam Kafle questioned about the usage of the proposal given the fact the enabling STA already knows the existing primary service.
  5. Peter Ecclesineresponded that low power auxiliary service signal such as microphone signal comes and goes, the enabling STA would not be able to track them.
  1. Chen Sun (NICT) presented document 0709/r0.
  2. Jae-Hyung Song asked how the dependent STA can know the channel number and channel bandwidth.
  3. Zhou Lan (NICT) responded this proposal only proposes to extend enabling only one channel to multiple channels. The channel number and channel bandwidth have to be understood for the one channel case, which is out of scope of this proposal.
  4. Peter Ecclesine pointed out the enablement frame are not extensible. The proposed change should not happen due to backward compatibility.
  5. Zhou Lan asked if the group is in favor of the idea of enabling multiple channels.
  6. Peter Ecclesine spoke against this idea due to a couple of reasons. For example, there is an information element of supported channels which tells the usable channel. Another example is that if the STA is not happy with the current channel, it can use extended channel switch to go to another channel.
  7. Peter Ecclesine suggested having more discussion on this topic.
  8. Chen Sun pointed out that these channels are consecutive channels not separated channels.
  9. Chen Sun mentioned that there is situation where the dependent STA request enablement for a few separated channels.
  1. Chen Sun (NICT) presented document 0710/r0.
  2. Peter Ecclesine commended this proposed procedure is adding rules that are not required. Enabling procedure does not need to convey the information on which channel the dependent STA is enabled; the service can be continuedon any available channel as long as enabling signal is heard.
  3. Zhou Lan responded the intention of the proposal is not to create any new rule. It follows the rules defined in regulation and tries to bring a solution for usage with flexibility.
  4. Peter Ecclesineresponded that the enablement and channel availability check are independent. The dependent STA is enabled on all the channels listed in the MAP, if there is a primary signal detected on certain channel, the STA can go to other channel and do the availability check. If there is no primary signal detected in that channel, the STA can use this channel as long as the enabling signal is heard. Peter Ecclesine also pointed out that off-channel monitoring happens in radar bands to survey other candidate channels before an extended channel switch is necessary.
  5. Chen Sun responded that this situation is already considered in the current state diagram.
  6. Peter Ecclesine suggested having more discussion on this topic.
  1. Chair said the way the group is resolving the comments is so far so good, now we are having weekly conference call including GOF instead of every two weeks.
  1. Chair asked if there is any other business, hearing none, we are adjourned at 11:30pmEDT.
