Camp Wired Computer Programming

The Computer Lab is on the 2nd floor. The Medina Room is on the 3rd floor. All classes9:30am -11:00am. If you have a USB Flash drive bring it when class is in the ComputerLab. Also bring a headset or earphones when in the computer lab if you have them.

June 6-(Medina Room)Be an Online Detective– You might be surprised at what information you can find about yourself or other people on the Internet. The class will show participants which websites are best for tracking people down and where you can find public record information (including foreclosures, new home buyers, and new businesses) on the Internet

June 20-(Medina Room)The Ins & Outs of Online shopping-Shopping online can be fast, fun, and convenient! Learn guidelines for shopping safely online and get tips on great sites for browsing, finding product reviews, and making purchases.

June 27–(Computer Lab)Excel 2010 Create a timeline–Design a visual representation of your life and special events.

July 4–CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAY

July 11–(Medina Room)Google the Basics & Beyond–This class will demonstrate Google’s many special features such as advanced Web searching, maps, images, video, and news. You’ll also learn about Google’s competitors for those times when using Google is not the best option. Class is lecture-based.

July 25–(Medina Room)Speak to a Geek-Confused by your Kindle? Troubled by tables in Word? Get walk-in help from Camp Wired students who are available to help with eBook devices, email, digital photos and all things computer. Use your laptop or ours.

August 1-(Computer Lab) Google Search Tips- Google is the go-to search engine for most people on the internet. It's so popular, that it's changed the way many of us talk about searching for information online. Have you ever heard someone use the word "Google" as a verb, for example?Web Quest assignment handed out to demonstrate our internet searching abilities.

August 15 -(Computer Lab) Make a Magazine Cover in Publisher 2010 - Learn how to make a simple, yet striking front cover for a magazine.

August 22–(Medina Room)Computer Basics – Are you new to computers? This is the class for you learn the lingo; see the inside of a computer. Pre-Test evaluation as we start the Back to School Edition of Camp Wired.

August 29 -(Computer Lab) Meet the Mouse - Interactive class with online exercises teaching how to move and click a computer mouse, click buttons, use drop-down and scroll-bar menus, and fill-out forms.
