Griffith College Limerick is offering the following opportunities:

  • Higher Diploma in Computing (Level 8)
  • Certificate in Computing Science (Level 6)
  • Special Purpose Award in SME( Small and Medium Enterprise) Management (Level 7)

All courses are part-time to allow participants look for work. Griffith College works closely with industry to establish the skill sets needed by those seeking employment in order to make their students stand out from the crowd. These courses have been designed with this goal in mind and are ideal for anyone looking to add valuable knowledge and experience to build a strong CV.

The Higher Diploma in Computing (Level 8) is a one year conversion course designed to allow non-computing graduates to gain an IT qualification and become highly employable in the ICT sector. Should the student wish to further their studies this higher diploma also allows them to progress to an MSc in Computing.

The Certificate in Computing Science (Level 6), a one-year, part-time programme,gives graduates a strong knowledge base in the area of computers that is valued across all sectors. This course specifically prepares graduates for employment as IT technicians and equips them with a basic understanding of programming, software applications and a comprehensive skill set in computer hardware, routers, networking and data base management. There is a considerable demand for IT technicians across a wide variety of industry sectors.

The Special Purpose Award in SME Management programme has been specifically designed to assist those who wish to peruse entrepreneurial endeavors and it is ideal preparation for employment in an established small to medium sized company. The course is suitable for those from a variety of backgrounds including construction, hospitality and the manufacturing industry. The programme has been developed in consultation with a variety of businesses and the Small and Medium Enterprises Association (ISME). The programme runs for 10 full days over a 3-month period. It involves a mentoring aspect with mentors guiding participants towards successful employment.

Upon completion of all programmes, the course directors at Griffith College will give every assistance to students to help them gain suitable employment.
