Team Task 3 (T3-S4)

Instructions

Team Task #3 (Due at the end of Session 4)

Jump ahead from the RFP and the company has picked NetSuite!

Part 1: You've seen NetSuite and have gotten a feel for the system. You know your project requirements. Prepare a detailed implementation plan that communicates to company personnel the following:

Short introduction to vendor selected

Approach to implementation (phased, pilot, big bang)

Timeline based on approach selected

Who’s managing what for Ramsey and by the vendor

Other steps and important information that your team thinks is necessary to document for a successful implementation

Part 2: Using a Social Technology

After you complete Part 1 design a simple social technology site for the Ramsey ERP implementation. Using one of the following social technologies listed below (or a similar free product that you may have access to or are familiar with), create a place where stakeholders in the ERP implementation (as determined by you) may interact and collaborate over the project.

One paragraph on your team’s social site should explain how the site will be used during the project implementation process. For example, is it only for your consulting team and management, or will other stakeholders, like employees be able to access the site and engage?

You may use all, some, or augment the content from your prior team tasks.

Try as many of the sites features as you can.

Everyone on the team should become familiar with the technology, be able to use it, and show evidence of its use on the site.

At the end of Session 4, submit a Word document that explains to me how to access your social technology (for most this means sending me the team leads login and id). I will evaluate the site. I will also share screenshots with the entire class.

*Always remember to be cautious with personal information.

I know the many of these technologies are new for us, but don’t be stressed. Look at this activity as fun. Really role-play and think of how the tool you choose would be beneficial in the implementation context.

I’ve picked these technologies for their ease of use. They meet my rule of “Tech in Ten”, which means you can usually figure them out in 10 minutes. Plan your time well in relation to your other deliverables.

Imagine and Enjoy!
