2018 High School Recommendation Form

Description of Award:
A $50,000 scholarship will be given to four graduating high school students, which will be awarded at $12,500 per year for four years. If all the funds are not used within four years and the student has more work to continue to receive these degree, the remaining funds can be used for a fifth year of school.
Award Criteria:
· Per the donor’s instructions, the student must be of parental Mexican heritage and surname, following the paternal line back to Mexico, and a legal resident of the United States.
· The student must have a positive attitude towards education and a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average.
· The student must reside within the Gilroy Unified School District boundaries and attend any Gilroy high school.
· This award is to be used for tuition, educational, and living expenses included in the cost of attending an educational institution. We encourage its use for nontaxable purposes as specified in the Revenue Act of 1986, which includes paying for tuition, books, fees and/or equipment needed for course work.
