Prevailing Wage

Prevailing Wages are the most common wages and benefits provided to the majority of workers in a given area. Prevailing Wage Laws are important because they keep local labor markets stable and encourage competition in efficiencies rather than a “race to the bottom” in slashing wages.

Area Standards

Since 1881 the United Brotherhood of Carpenters have sworn to protect and preserve Area Standards which include a good family wage, healthcare for the employee and their family, a pension, and contributions to training and education.
