CONDITIONS 2017
- No exhibitor shall have more than three entries in any one class, and no entry shall compete in more than one class.
- If there are not more than four entries in any class no third prize will be awarded.
- No exhibitor shall take more than two prizes in any one class.
- All animals must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor and to have been in his possession prior to 1st November 2017.
- All show cattle must be led with the exception of the commercial classes. Exhibitors must ensure that their cattle have been suitably trained to be led and if, in the opinion of the Society, are not adequately trained, the Society will refuse entry to the show for that particular animal. The Stewards decision is final.
- Classes 1-5 only are eligible for the Championship. Untrimmed beasts cannot compete for the Championship Beast prize.
- Class 5 is restricted to a previous Derby Cattle Market vendor.
- Classes 11 and 12 are restricted to a cow, which has had a full term calf.
- Cattle to be numbered as in entry catalogue and sold in that order, except for the champion and reserve champion beast, which are to be sold first then 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class followed by all other entries in the catalogue order.
- All documents must accompany the entries to the cattle market; animals without documents will not be eligible for judging.
- All animals must be sold through the auction or prizes may be withheld.
- All animals to be in the market by 8.00am on the day of the show.
Judging Cattle, Sheep, Goats & Pigs - 9.00am prompt
14.Lambs must be a minimum of six months old.
15.Lambs must be untrimmed other than the breach, trimmed lambs will be disqualified
16.All cattle sheep and pigs to be judged on suitability as a butcher’s animal.
17.The Judge will cut one Cheese and one Pork Pie in classes 41, 42, 43, 44 and 45 for inspection.
18.All Pork Pies, Pastries, Cheeses, Sausages & Pastries and Home Baking will be auctioned for the benefit of The Society at 1pm in the Exhibition Hall.
19.Entries will be accepted by the Secretary and must be made on or before Tuesday 28th November 2017 and no entries will be allowed after that date.
20.All objections must be lodged in writing to the Secretary by 1.00pm on the day of the Show with a fee of £5 for each objection, which will be returned if the objection is sustained. Any dispute shall be referred to the Chairman of the Society whose decision shall be final and binding.

FLORAL ART SHOW – CHRISTMAS 2017
To be held in the Exhibition Halls, Melton Mowbray Livestock Market, Scalford Road, Melton Mowbray on Tuesday, 5 December 2017.
Exhibits will be judged by Mrs Jane Walden in accordance with the NAFAS Competitions Manual – Third Edition 2015 (copy held by the Entries Secretary, Mrs Pat Stanley).
Exhibits in Classes 1 and 2 to be staged at the venue on Monday, 4th December between 6.00pm and 9.30pm.
Exhibits in Classes 3 and 4 may be brought ready done and deposited with the Entries Secretary at the venue from 4.00pm to 8.00pm on Monday 4th December.
All exhibits will be staged on black tabling unless otherwise stated. All measurements are approximate.
The Mary Abbott Trophy will be awarded to the Best Exhibit in the Show.
