Dear Parent of an HCMS 8th Grade AIG Student,

Your student has the opportunity to visit the campus of UNC Chapel Hill on Friday, March 20th for a College Tour. Students will have the opportunity to explore the campus, hear from current college students, see classrooms, eat in the dining hall, and visit the Football Stadium and Basketball Museum.

WHEN: Friday, March 20th

WHERE: UNC-Chapel Hill

BUS DEPARTS HCMS: 7:30 am

BUS DEPARTS UNC-CH: 2:30 pm

BUS RETURNS HCMS: 5:30 pm – Students will need to be picked up in the HCMS Bus Parking Lot.

FEES: AIG funds will cover the transportation cost, as well as a portion of the lunch cost.

Students will need to pay $5.00 to have lunch in Rams Head Dining Hall.

Signed Permission Form: Form and Money must be returned to Mrs. Holland by Thursday, March 12th

Optional Costs: Students will have the opportunity to shop in the Campus Student Store.

As this trip is meant to encourage students to plan for their future, we will also be incorporating 21st Century Learning Skills and Technology into our campus tour. One component of this is a “Selfie Scavenger Hunt,” which will allow students to take pictures around places of interest on the campus of UNC-CH as they learn about the significance of each location. We would like your permission to use some of those pictures on our school’s social media outlets (the HCMS Webpage, HCMS Twitter Page, and Edmodo).
