Guidelines for Authors
The primary purpose of theJournal of ManagementMatters (JMM) is to publish quality research articles in the fields of business and economics. JMM is the official journal of the Faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata university of Sri Lanka, Mihintale, Sri Lanka. All manuscripts for theJMMshould be prepared with guidelines provided herein. No manuscript will be considered for publication in the JMM that has been published elsewhere or submitted elsewhere for review.
General Guidelines
All manuscripts should address research issues in a rigorous way using qualitative, quantitative or mixed method. Manuscripts should not exceed 15 pages, 1.5-spaced (excluding tables and figures).
Each manuscript undergoes a blind review, typically by two reviewers, plus review by the editorial board. A manuscript achieves full acceptance status only after all revisions required by the reviewing process.

Formatting guidelines
- Language -Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these).
- Number of pages: 15 max A4 sized including reference list
- Line spacing - 1.5

- Font & font size: Times New Roman , 11
Text:
Right and left justified. Paragraphs first-line indented. All acronyms spelled out first before consequent use. The word 'percent' should be used instead of %. Numbers 1-9 spelled out. Statistical terms in italics (e.g.:n, p, F, M) do this in tables as well. Use single quotes only inside double quotes. In a series, use a comma before the conjunction (e.g.: Smith, Jones, and Paddington). Translate Latin abbreviations into English: i.e. = that is; e.g. = for example; avoid use of etc. Footnotes, not endnotes.
Headings:
Level 1: Initial caps (excluding prepositions and conjunctions), bold, italic, left justified, separate paragraph.
Level 2: Initial caps, bold, left justified, separate paragraph.
Level 3: Initial caps, italic, within paragraph.
First Page of Each Article:
Title.
Author's first and last names, in italics
Author/s’ affiliations
Abstract, in italics
Text of article.
Acknowledgements (when needed), preceded by asterisk (with corresponding asterisk in title)
References – (APA referencing style)
Citations must be consistent in author name(s) and publication date between the text and the bibliography at the end. Any reference in the text must be matched by a full entry in the end references. Entries in the references must be matched by entries in the text. Citations must include all information necessary to enable the reader to locate the referenced publication. Referencesshould be in alphabetical order by the first author's last name; by the first word of the publication or authoring organization if there is no authorname.

Tables and Figures
Heading consists of table number in one paragraph and table title in subsequent paragraph. Title uses initial caps, and is not boldface and is centered over table. Heading consists of figure number and title in one line. Title uses initial caps, and is not boldface and is center under figure. Cell titles are initial caps, centered over columns (except first, which is left justified). Use a single horizontal line above and below cell titles and a single horizontal at the end of the last row of data. Except when clarity requires it, no other lines should be used in the table.
Article structure
Subdivision - numbered sections
Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering).
Abstract
A concise and factual abstract is required. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusion. The abstract should be no more than 200 words.
Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 5 keywords.
Introduction
State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background
Literature
Provide brief literature review
Resultsand discussion
Results should be clear and concise. Discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them.
Conclusion
The main conclusion of the study should be presented along with recommendation and implication if applicable.
