Hello IMA Members!
It’s hard to believe November is upon us already! Thanksgiving will be here before you realize it and we’ll be kicking off the Christmas season. For those of you who were not able to make the October meeting, you missed a very stimulating presentation by Dr. La Near. It’s always a pleasure to have him as our guest!
November is a Tour Night and these events are always popular with our members. Our tour will be at Cardinal Scale in Webb City. We will proceed to Chatter’s after conclusion of the tour for dinner. The tour will begin at 5:30 PM. We will provide more specifics regarding the tour in our monthly meeting notice. Be sure to mark the date on your calendar; you won’t want to miss it.
Also coming up in December is our lunch meeting, which will also be “Bosses Day”. Bill Gipson from Empire Electric will be our speaker, so plan on bringing your boss along to hear his discussion of “Leadership Through Tough Times”.
There is still time to sign up for the November 14th seminar at MSSU. It’s an excellent chance to catch up on any CPE you may need before the year is up. Stay involved with IMA this November 18th and set aside 5:30 to 7:30 for an interesting plant tour, dinner, and camaraderie (not mention an hour of CPE). I’ll see you at Cardinal Scale!

The Joplin Tri-State Chapter invites you to attend an afternoon of CPE with friends and colleagues. Our program consists of two hours on Professional Ethics by William Huffman, PhD, CPA, from MSSU; one hour on Advanced Excel for Accountants by Mr. Steve Robinett, Leggett & Platt; and one hour on Spreadsheet Quality Control by Mr. Steve Williams, Leggett & Platt. Please use this form and include the fee with your completed registration. The first 30 paid registrations will receive a leather portfolio.

A note about our December Luncheon Meeting!!!
Keep your calendar marked for our upcoming
December 16th,2008 meeting. It will be a luncheon meeting and we well meet at Wilders Fine Foods on 12th and Main in Joplin. We will meet for lunch at 12:00 until 1:00pm. Our guest speaker will be Bill Gipson from Empire District Electric. His message will be about Leadership Though the Tough Times. So be watching for the announcement on that meeting early in December. Also, each year our Local IMA Chapter picks an organization and then take up donations for the organization. We will have a box set up for you to give and this year we decided to help out the local Red Cross Chapter in Joplin. Whatever donations we collect on December 16th we will give to them. So be prepared to give any size donation large or small that meeting.

Sherrie Waterman would like to resign from her current VP of Communications and Community Relations. She is currently holding this board position along with the Secretary position as well so she would like to resign from her VP position. If any one is interested or would like more information about this great position please contact her at:
