Joining Instructions

Richard, Martyn and Dan from Quest look forward to welcoming you to the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 6JS, from 17.30pm on Friday 11th September.

Those travelling by train will be met at Kemble station by minibus. There will also be a minibus on hand for those people flying into Bristol Airport. We have three minibuses for this event, and will return you to the station or airport after breakfast on Sunday morning, on the 13th.

If you are travelling by car, on arrival please go to the Porters Lodge where you will be given your room key and campus pass. You will all be staying in the Vic Hughes Hall, and should use the Woodlands car park.

All rooms have ensuite facilities and you will be provided with towels and a complimentary toiletries pack. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

Once you have received your key and pass and settled into your room, please make your way to the bar where we will be meeting from 18.30 onwards. The bar will be open from 18.30 and dinner will be at 19.30 on the 11th. Evening meals will be taken at the RAC on Friday 11th and at another location on Saturday 12th. Lunch will be provided on the 12th, and breakfast will be taken at the RAC on the 12th and 13th.

Kit List

‘There is no such thing as bad weather just inappropriate clothing!’

As usual on The Man Challenge we are not able to tell you exactly what you will be doing, but I can confirm that as you would expect we have a very full and varied agenda of exciting activities planned.

Even in mid September the correct clothing is a crucial factor for your enjoyment of the event. Below is a recommended kit list in addition to your normal outdoor clothing:

  • Waterproof jacket (waterproof trousers if you have them)
  • Warm fleece
  • Hat & gloves
  • A sturdy pair of boots or wellingtons
  • Cross training shoes or comfortable outdoor shoes (preferably waterproof)
  • Comfortable old clothing (It may get dirty!)
  • T- Shirt, shorts, tracksuit bottoms (it may get dirty!)
  • Wash kit
  • Sun lotion (hopefully)

Please arrive in good time for a prompt 0930hrs start. Tea and coffee will be available from 0900hrs in the reception area at Engineers house with the Newton Room signposted from here.

There will be Quest signs placed at strategic points on your final run into the RAC to help you find the venue, they will look like this and have the Mott Mac logo on them:
