Hi LMS! Don’t forget to go to Chik-Fil-A starting Thursday May 24 (see Schoology or your teachers for the ChikFilA Schedule) for our friendly competition between LMS and DMS. ChikFil A will donate a portion of each purchase to our Unity Day Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser. To add to the fun, we are going to have a little LMS competition as well by bringing back HOUSE WARS! Every time you go to ChikFilA next week, find an LMS teacher and sign your name on Your House List. The LMS House (A,B, C,or D) with the most ChikFil A attendees will win a popsicle party on June 1st.

Sign-ups for the large group games at Unity Day are now happening during all lunches. If you are interested in participating in the wacky relay, tug of war, sling the chicken, or tunnel ball events, please sign up during your lunch period. Let’s make this Unity Day the best one yet!

Are you moving or transferring to a school not in the Downingtown School District over this summer? Please visit the Guidance Office to add your name to list of students who know they will not be returning. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Martin in the Guidance Office

You’ve seen them hanging in the hallways, now it’s time to make your guess to win BIG MONEY!!! One thin dollar is all it takes to make a guess on how long the string of all the ties will be at the end of the year. The closest answer will win $30 and the winner’s choice of 5 ties. 2nd closest wins $20 and 3 ties. Make your guess beginning this week during lunch with Mr. Waber at the café. All proceeds go to Helping Hands.

Do you have any extra dog and cat supplies? If so, please consider donating them to the box right outside room A106.

Any girls still interested in participating in the Powder Puff tournament, please have all you paperwork in by the end of this week!

Okay LMS, what talents do you have to share with your fellow student body? Talent show auditions are coming up on Tuesday,May 22 from 2:50-5:00pm. Sign-ups are outside Ms. Reimers room on the green bulletin board. If all slots fill up, Wednesday, May 23rd,after-school will be added. Past acts have been singing (of course) solos and duets, rockbands, Indian classical dance, ballet, hip hop, jazz dance, piano solos, instrument ensembles, instrumental solos, baton twirling, martial arts demonstrations, and of course there are always some amazingFACULTY acts to look forward to!Doesn't matter if you had a solo for your chorus concert, this is totally different. Looking forward to seeing all the talent here at LMS!

Have you ever wanted something very badly? What would you have traded to have it? How did you feel when you didn’t get it? Think back to that time. That’s how ZikiSwaze and the thousands of other kids working in cobalt mines in the Congo feel every day. As little children, they have just one wish-to go to school. We are all partly responsible for this child labor as cobalt is an essential component of the electronic devices that we use every day. But there is hope. You can help make a child’s dream come true. By donating any amount of money, you can help a child to go to school. Put your contributions in the boxes that will be located in the cafeteria from May 7 to May 25 during all lunches. Remember, every penny counts.

Talent show auditions are coming up next Tuesday after-school!! Sign-ups are right outside Ms. Reimers room!

Don't forget to sign up for the free girls’ self-defense clinic, May 24th. Clinic will be run at LMS from 3-5. Open to 7th and 8th graders. Use link below to register.
