Communications Committee

Help connect AFP members and other audiences to our programs, resources and events through print materials, e-communications and social media. Your skills in writing, editing, content development, planning, project management (and even Facebook!) can help us build awareness, participation and membership for chapter and international initiatives. This committee works in tandem with both the Education and Membership Committees, and supports the work of AFP International’s Public Affairs Department.

IDEA Committee

The IDEA committee is responsible for working with all the AFP-MN chapter committees to successfully integrate a culture of diversity & inclusion into every aspect of the AFP-MN chapter. The chapter seeks to achieve a broad representation of experiences, perspectives, & cultures to ensure that the best possible thinking, ideas, opportunities, and solutions are considered. We strive to intentionally create a respectful & welcoming environment that is open to all, & appreciate the unique contributions of every member of our community.

Education Committee

Plan and execute monthly chapter programs as well as special sessions throughout the year. The education committee works with the Communications Committee to publicize programs and evaluate member satisfaction with program offerings.
Membership Committee

Prepare and execute a membership recruitment and retention plan. The committee provides orientation for new members, administrates chapter scholarships and works to promote membership diversity. This committee works closely with the Education and Communication Committees. The Youth in Philanthropy Committee is a sub-committee, providing leadership and direction for the involvement of youth in philanthropy. This group’s focus is to plan and promote opportunities for youth to learn about and become involved in philanthropic endeavors. The committee works with the Philanthropy Day Committee to secure nominations in the youth category for the Philanthropy Day awards.

National Philanthropy Day Committee

Plan and execute the annual celebration of Philanthropy Day in Minnesota, including all aspects from the awards luncheon to the program offerings.
Resource Development Committee

Resource development committee members are responsible for helping to cultivate, solicit and steward individuals, corporations and nonprofits interested in supporting the ongoing work and strategic goals of AFP Minnesota.
