JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title:Services Development Manager
Hours:Full-time (37 hours)
Salary: £35,000 plus 5% Pension
Reports to:Chief Executive
Location:Bromley
You will help us design, develop and deliver an ambitious programme of projects for Bromley Mencap leading to business growth and service development. You will join our Senior Management Team and be supported by our Grants & Trusts Fundraiser. You’ll take a collaborative, hands-on approach to establish and manage new services, support the development of current services and ensure financial sustainability. As a skilled project manager, you’ll forge partnerships, develop social businesses, establish a Personal Assistant Agency and extend our programme of day opportunities, short breaks for children and paid for services.
Key work areas and tasks:
- To drive forward the development of and growth of new services creating innovative solutions within the current financial climate
- To manage a range of new and developing services from conception through to delivery ensuring no overlap with current provision
- Develop services in line with funders’ requirements and our Quality Standards
- In the first year to lead on a portfolio of initiatives including establishing a PA agency, developing a social business, extending our range of short breaks and day opportunities and marketing our services to self-funders, personal budget holders and people in neighbouring London boroughs
- Work seamlessly across the organisation in a collaborative and constructive manner to implement Bromley Mencap’s strategic direction
- Work with the senior management team to develop existing services leading to holistic provision for disabled people and carers
- Produce well researched and robust business plans for service development and sustainability
- Ensure all opportunities are effectively project managed, governance arrangements are in place and meet timescales for delivery and quality
- To recruit, manage and develop staff within Bromley Mencap’s policies and procedures
- Utilise volunteers appropriately within services
- Work collaboratively with the management team to proactively build, develop and maintain relationships with health and social care professionals and other stakeholders
- Develop partnerships with other organisations and commissioners to generate business opportunities and market Bromley Mencap’s products and services
- Represent Bromley Mencap at external meetings and forums
- To uphold and personally demonstrate the values of Bromley Mencap
- Provide accurate and timelyreports, including contract and internal reporting, budget management and performance data
Other tasks and requirements
- To fully comply with Bromley Mencap’s policies and procedures, ensuring these are carried out in relation to the post
- At all times to maintain the professional integrity and reputation of the Charity and represent their main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups and individuals
- To attend regular supervision meetings with the Chief Executive
- Work flexibly within the broad remit of the post
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post
