Job Summary

To develop and implement Henshaws community fundraising strategy, reaching agreed targets to support the work of Henshaws.

To grow the supporter base of Henshaws and provide excellent customer care, maximising retention and life-time value of support.

Key responsibilities

To work with the Corporate and Events Manager to develop, implement and evaluate a strategy for community and event income streams and lead on the implementation of the strategy.

Assist the Corporate & Events Manager with the production of regular financial and analysis reports reflecting performance against targets and income trends.

Report to Community and Events Manager on key performance indicators (KPI), planning contingency actions where required.

To develop strong communication plans for all events and provide excellent customer care to participants.Including the development of a range of acknowledgement processes to show appropriate recognition for event participation.

To manage the process of events registration making sure that correspondence, events packs and other related materials are provided in a timely manner.

To initiate and build strong relationships with key community audiences, understanding their motivations for supporting Henshaws and tailoring approaches accordingly.

To create and manage stewardship and communication plans with community audiences with a focus on developing long term support.

To work with the Corporate and Events Manager to develop a programme of fundraising ambassadors from our service user friendship groups and key supporters who are able to represent Henshaws and encourage the development of fundraising groups.

To research, book and attend talks representing Henshaws within the community.

To grow community engagement with Henshaws through work with schools, religious and civic organisations.

To develop existing fundraising opportunities through proactive review, analysis, benchmarking, and marketing.

With the Corporate & Events Manager develop creative fundraising ideas, appeals and events to engage new and existing supporters building a business case for any investment and monitoring and reporting on their results.

To deliver excellent stewardship for all supporters to maximise the diversity of their support, return on investment and retention.

To ensure all communication is recorded and up to date on the charity database and use the database to monitor activity.

To help implement marketing communications plans for communityfundraising, including press, social media, digital and printed communications.

To keep relevant sections of the website up to date.

To work with the Marketing and Communications team to identify and maximise PR opportunities

Gain and maintain an understanding of the charity’s work, prioritiesand future plans, to inform current and future fundraising plans and activities.

Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of trends and developments in the sector, throughcompleting relevant training, reviewing relevant press and publications and keeping up to date with industry news.

Be an active and supportive member of the Fundraising and wider Henshaws team,contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleaguesand volunteers.

Represent the charity at meetings and events as required. This will often requiretravel within the North of England.

Ensure that the charity’s policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times, within the remit of the fundraiser post.

Any other reasonable duties commensurate with this role, as required by the Director of Fundraising.
