OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provide support to the Learning team in the delivery of family learning activities at The Hepworth Wakefield.

MAIN TASKS

ART POD FACILITATION

Art Pod in a mobile unit containing activities that engage families in the exhibitions in the galleries. Activities are developed by Creative Practitioners and the Family Learning Programme Coordinator and are facilitated by the Art Pod facilitator in the galleries on Saturdays and Mondays and Fridays during the school holidays. Activities are updated with each new exhibition. Art Podsare a free resource and are developed for families with children aged 3-12.

Art Pod Facilitator duties include:

  • Engage with families in creative activities linked to exhibitions.
  • Check stock levels and tidy Art Pod at beginning and end of session (restock where necessary)
  • Move Art Pod at beginning and end of session
  • Record participant numbers and administer evaluation forms.
  • Develop knowledge of the galleries and key works that the activities are themed around
  • Follow correct reporting procedures in dealing with difficult experience.
  • Support Art Pod Assistant Volunteers

WORKSHOP SUPPORT FACILITATION

Drop-in workshops take place in the Learning Studios every Sunday and week days during the school holidays. Workshops are developed and delivered by Creative Practitioners, supported by the workshop facilitators. Drop-in workshops encompass both gallery activity and a practical creative activity in the Learning Studios. Drop-ins are free and aimed at families with children aged 3-12.

Workshop Support Facilitator role duties include:

  • Engage with families in creative activities linked to exhibitions and displays.
  • Support Creative Practitioners running the family workshop.

  • Support families with Learning Studio activities.
  • Record participant numbers.
  • Explain gallery activities to families and hand out activity sheets.
  • Assist in set up and tidy down of Learning Studios.
