JOB TITLE: Web Development/MIS/Technology Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist with technology and web development of startup website.
Do you enjoy working on web sites and implementing the latest technology? Looking for an experience to help build your resume? We have an immediate opening for one or two self-motivated people looking for internships. The work environment is intense, creative, and entrepreneurial.
Garden State Apartments, LLC owns and operates the website GardenStateApartments.com an Online Apartment Rental Network servicing the residential real estate community of New Jersey. Through the powers of technology and information, our startup company helps our clients achieve their goals. Even before launch, GardenStateApartments.com’s business model has been heralded throughout New Jersey state government and the real estate industry.
As a rapidly growing start-up company, the work is very hands on and the experience is one-of-a kind. The process so far has been very enjoyable, and we'd like to keep it that way.
Responsibilities of the internship include:
+ Developing web and technology strategies
+ Determine strengths and weaknesses of competitors
+ Research best practices
+ Enhancing & building onto the website
+ Developing features and feasibility
+ Researching & developing a pricing structure
+ Creating features, testing them, and taking them live
+ Initiate the marketing plan activities
+ Monitor and evaluate the site and the plan
+ Create performance and success metrics
+ Write weekly progress reports and plan of action
+ Generate final report
The position allows for flexible scheduling and much of the work can be completed from your dorm room or home. There is a possibility of offsite work with the company’s web development company, so you may need access to a vehicle. Your progress will be evaluated during weekly meetings with management and feedback will be a vital part of the direction of your work.
Work is at least 10 - 15 hours per week at present, but could grow quickly for the right person. A motivated and enthusiastic person can quickly fill a role increasing in challenge and performance bonus. Full time employment after this experience is possible for the right candidates.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS NEEDED:
Candidates should be able to start project from scratch and take to perfection. Advanced understanding or mastery of Php, MySQL, and HTML is critical. Additional experience with Photoshop, Flash, & Activate are plus. Newsletter design, logo design or other design experience are also a plus.
Ideal Candidate should be a Sophomore or Junior with IT, MIS, CS, or related majors (seniors & MBA candidates welcome to apply). A strong marketing, real estate, or business understanding is a plus. We are looking for commitment, problem solving mindset, creativity, attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, a good nature, energy, and adaptability.
