South Lakes Citizens Advice is an established local independent charity that provides free, impartial and confidential advice. It also undertakes research and campaign work to influence policy makers and to effect change.

We have been successful in recent funding bids and we are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals to join our team. We have the following three opportunities:

Job Title: Volunteer Recruitment and Training Officer (Ref: fsct01)

This post is funded by The Frieda Scott Charitable Trust. The Volunteer Recruitment and Training Officerwill play a key role in developing the service we provide across South Lakeland.

You will be responsible for the recruitmentof new volunteers, as well as, the ongoing support and developmentof our volunteer teams.

Location: Windermere or Kendal site. Travel will be necessary within the district of South Lakeland.

Hours:18.5 hours per week. Normal working day 9am to 5pm but could be required to work some evenings or Saturdays.

Salary: £23,000 FTE (£11,500 actual) plus pension contribution.

Duration: The post is funded for two years.

Contract : Fixed term

The Volunteer Recruitment and Training officer is a key role within our service and will have the responsibility for:

  • developing and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy for the service.
  • planning and organising recruitment campaigns.
  • trainingand supporting all volunteers for the Citizens Advice South Lakes.
  • providing on-going training support to volunteers/ paid staff.

Job Title: Telephone and Digital Adviser

(Ref: core 01)

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a quality advice service to clients via the telephone and e-mail.

Location: Windermere and/ or Kendal office.

Hours:15 hour per week. To be negotiated

Salary: £19,500 FTE (£7,800 actual) plus pension contribution.

Duration: The post is funded for 12 months.

Contract:12 months fixed term

Telephone and Digital Adviser will be the first point of contact and will have the responsibility of delivering a quality advice service and will be able to demonstrate:

  • an understanding of the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service
  • excellent communication skills
  • experience of delivering advice and information either by face to face or telephone
  • an commitment to delivering a high quality service.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the administration provided to the whole of the service is of a high standard, customer and business focused.

Location: Windermere

Hours: 15 hour per week. To be negotiated.

Salary: £17,550 FTE (£7,020 actual) plus pension contribution.

Duration: The post is funded for 12 months.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to:

  • provide quality administrative support.
  • maintain records and office systems.
  • prioritise a varied and busy daily workload.
  • work flexibly within a team to meet changing demands.
