Job Title:Trusts and FundraisingOfficer

Reports to:Fundraising Manager

Location:Elizabeth Finn Care Headquarters - Hammersmith

Salary:£32,000 p.a.

Purpose of Job:To formulate and implement plans that maximise sustainable income generated through the development and management of relationships with charitable trusts and foundations, ensuring income growth year on year. To work withthe grant-making and Turn2usdepartments at EFC to thoroughly research service information andstatistics to build relevant cases for support and fundraising products

To formulate and implement plans to maximise income generated through supporter participation in the London Marathon and other sponsored events.

Primary Tasks:

Trust Fundraising:

  • Planning and implementing EFC’s Trusts fundraising strategy
  • Maintaining and updating EFC’s database with Trust information, applications and income
  • Managing and developing relationships with existing Trust contacts and maximising opportunities through attendance at events as appropriate
  • Making grant applications and progress reports to existing and potential funders
  • Ensuring that existing trust funders are kept up to date on a regular basis and that their requirements are met
  • Co-ordinating a rolling monthly applications programme to both current and potential trusts
  • Producing monthly progress reports
  • Liaising with the Fundraising Manager, Major Donors Advisor and 3-Nations staff on their trust funding applications, ensuring the Trusts pipeline is kept up-to-date and relationships and responsibilities are clearly understood by all.

Prospect Research:

  • Research new trusts and foundations seeking potential links with the work of EFC
  • Undertake research into potential trusts and foundations in the UK and overseas
  • Work with the Major Donor fundraiser to ensure that income from private and personal trustsis maximised.

Product Development:

  • Build excellent relationships with staff in all departments, and liaise with team members and internal contacts to gather information to support our fundraising and develop new fundraising approaches.

Sponsored Events

  • To formulate and implement plans to maximise income generated through supporter participation in the London Marathon and other sponsored events
  • To develop recruitment routes to generate supporter participation in sponsored events, including ensuring opportunities are publicised in EFC communications and through our websites and social media as agreed with the Fundraising Manager.

Other fundraising Activities

  • Support and supervise fundraising volunteers where appropriate
  • Undertake own administration
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.

These are the normal duties, which the Charity requires from the position. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and all employees will be required from time to time to perform other duties as may be required by the Charity for the efficient running of the charity. This Job Description is non-contractual. It will be reviewed from time to time and may be subject to change. The post holder will be expected to ensure that their work complies with contractual terms and conditions, the Charity’s policies and procedures and key legislation, such as data protection and charity law.

Education:

Necessary:

  • Educated to degree, or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths and English.

Knowledge:

Necessary:

  • Comprehensive up-to-date understanding of generating substantial income through effective relationship management with partner organisations, eg: Trusts, statutory, lottery etc.
  • Empathy with EFC’s vision and its services to people and organisations
  • Good understanding of fundraising techniques, best practice and relevant legislation.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of fundraising databases
  • Knowledge of the field of social welfare.

Experience:

Necessary:

  • Experience of generating income from Trusts and Foundations, statutory, lottery and/or European sources
  • Database skills including experience of using relational databases
  • Research experience
  • Software systems and applications including MS Office.
