JOB TITLE:Site Manager/Resource Referral Coordinator

REPORTS TO:Lead SiteCoordinator, Homeless Services Center

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:Exempt

TIME COMMITMENT:Full-time

STARTING SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience

Position Summary

TheSite Manager/Resource Referral Coordinatorwill be responsible for the oversight and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Homeless Service Center and will assist clients by guiding and linking them with access to local resources.This position works collaboratively with staff from the Transitional Resident Program (TRP) at the Homeless Services Center (HSC) and the Safe Parking Programs.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise and direct volunteers and residents, ensuring operations meet agency requirements.
  1. In conjunction with and as directed by other on-site staff, assists with the centralized intake and assessment process for shelters.
  2. Prepare monthly work schedules for site managers and TRP participants. Prepare alternate coverage plans or cover for TRP vacancies when necessary die to illness, vacation or emergencies.
  1. Prepare TRP chore list and monitor completion of chores.
  1. Oversee daily safety/cleanliness inspections; take appropriate action when standards are not met.
  1. Notify Facilities Coordinator of needed maintenance throughout the facility.
  2. Maintain necessary supplies; do regular inventory or order supplies as needed.
  3. Manage all donations according to program policies.
  1. Facilitate engagement and learning opportunities for TRP residents in relation to mandated volunteer hours and tasks.
  2. Enforce policies and procedures in line with accreditation standards. Implement performance and quality improvement process in compliance with agency’s process. Communicate changes and new rules and regulations to other HSC staff and the Transitional Resident Program; ensure that all Council on Accreditation (COA) operational policies and procedures are implemented and enforced.

12.Research and apply best practices from local agencies and nationally.

13.Follow shelter (COA) procedures for handling emergencies such as fire evacuation, police intervention, injury reports, and follow COA procedures for case management, program implementation/coordination, etc.

14.Continue to build relationships within the community through one-on-one networking, group meetings, and public outreach to help form partnerships, which will provide more resources for residents to break the cycle of homelessness,

15.Reach out to the unsheltered homeless to provide resources and refer to Catholic Charities homeless programs.

16.Ensure that all assigned intakes are input into client tracking software per grant regulations.

16.NOTE: Catholic Charities considers this position to be a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Attend all in-service trainings and participate in leadership building.
  2. Sort, store and dispense donations.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  1. Minimum of two years of college preferred, with area of study in psychology, sociology, human or child development, or other human or social services.
  1. Two (2) to three (3) years related work experience may substitute for some college work.
  1. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  1. Demonstrated experience in working in a homeless or low income family environment. Sensitivity to issues surrounding families experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, or physical handicaps.
  1. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service to all those in contact with agency’s homeless services.
  1. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  1. Ability to work under pressure. Experience in crisis intervention and problem solving with ability to diffused situation without heightening the conflict.

8.Possess a working knowledge of the resources in the community.

9.Must pass background check prior to start of work.

10.Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Possess the ability to work closely with other employees to ensure a positive, constructive environment within the program or department, and throughout the agency.

12.Ability to collect and report on data required for grants and other funding sources.

Physical Requirements

1.Ability tolift up to thirty (30) poundsup to a height of five (5) feet.

2.Sufficient mobility to stoop, reach, climb, kneel and move about to perform job duties. Use hands and fingers to feel and grasp.

3.Ability to walk for up to eight (8) hours per day, with intermittent, occasional standing, bending, reaching, squatting or climbing.

4.Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds for distances up to one-hundred (100) yards and from fifty-one (51) to one-hundred (100) pounds.
