Summary of Role

The role of the SeniorGlobal Business Manager is to lead the growth of the Award throughthe effective management of licensing, compliance and finances of the Global Business Team (GBT). GBT works with organisations across 60+ countries to licence new and existing Independent Award Centres (IACs)[1].

The role will work closely with the GBT Senior Operations Manager and Head of Operations to manage the overall strategic direction and budget for GBT.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • In conjunction with the GBT Senior Operations Manager and Head of Operations, develop the GBTstrategy, including meeting of income targets, and ensure its comprehensive implementation across the globe.
  • Monitor and manage the implementation of GBT quality assurance and licensing requirements through GBT staff
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the GBT Salesforce processes and procedures
  • Directly manage three members of staff (Licensing and Compliance Officer, Training and Events Administrator and IAC Administrator) and provide support to junior members of the team in terms of career and work progression

Licensing and compliance

  • Work with the Licensing and Compliance Officer to oversee and manage all licensing operations for the GBT
  • Ensure the existing operators’ licensing arrangements are up to date and reviews are planned and performed in a timely manner
  • Undertake any interim reviews where there appears to be a licence compliance issue
  • Follow up on and oversee the issuing of review notices and manage the licence termination processes
  • Manage the coordination of the Award authorisation process and annual stats data collection process

Financial management

  • Together with the Senior Operations Manager, manage the overall budgetfor Global Business Team and ensure that the team delivers on budget
  • Manage the invoicing process for all GBT related fees collected from the operators (licence fees, PRF, training fees, event fees, etc.)
  • Oversee the debt collection process for those operators that have outstanding payments
  • Oversee the internal team financial processes including credit card statements, expense forms of all team members and volunteer trainers

Communications

  • Together with the Senior Operations Manager, oversee the communication strategy and the delivery of its action plan for GBT in consultation with the Comms team

Reporting

  • Responsible for identifying and producing internal and external reports related to GBT activity for various stakeholders (trustees, SMT, IACs, ITAPs, etc.)

Qualifications / Educated to degree level in appropriate field of study/ equivalent relevant experience
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) / Achieved Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award / Application Form & Qualification Certificates
Experience / Experience of project management and business process systems
Experience of working with Salesforce or another CRM platform
Experience of managing a team, ideally across a number of locations / Bi-lingual in another language to a written and oral business communication standard
Experience of running The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award / Application Form & Interview
Knowledge / Knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
Cultural awareness and sensitivity / Knowledge of Salesforce or similar data management tool / Interview
Skills and Abilities / Able to demonstrate leadership and decision making skills
Able to organise and plan effectively.
Ability to communicate and network effectively at all levels with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team, managing time, prioritising workloads, working under competing pressures and to deadlines.
Computer literate. Experienced user of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. / Project management skills / Interview
Circumstances / Full time role working Monday to Friday with some flexibility required on or around the lead up to events.
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Must be willing to travel on behalf of the Foundation, sometimes with overnight stays.
Overtime is not payable, though hours worked over and above standard contract can be taken in lieu of payment (in line with policy)
