Job Title:Senior Communications Executive

Reporting to: Communications Manager

Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Senior Communications Executive should make a key contribution to the global PR strategy and plan, building and maintaining strong relationships with national and regional media contacts and the relevant PR agencies, to maximise positive media coverage and optimise advertising investment for the Farrow & Ball brand.

With specific responsibility for North America and Ireland, the Senior Communications Executive should develop a deep understanding of the Farrow & Ball consumer, brand performance and opportunities within the named markets. The Senior Communications Executive will drive online coverage and partnerships in order to raise brand awareness. As the key representative of the Communications team within Marketing Campaign meetings the Senior Communications Executive will ensure all communications opportunities are maximised. They will take specific responsibility for developing the online media plan and manage the Junior Communications Executive.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Management of the US PR agency, setting objectives, writing reports and evaluating results of communications activities (consumer campaigns, media buying, coverage, events).
  • Take specific responsibility for the development of a strategy to increase Farrow & Ball brand awareness in Ireland and Canada – hold one-to-one press briefings and develop media partnership opportunities.
  • Specific responsibility for online communications activity to increase brand awareness and drive footfall. Responsible for building relationships with UK online media (home décor and beyond), gaining media coverage and developing online media partnerships. Work closely with Senior Online Communications Executive to maximise added value offered by advertising.
  • Alongside Senior Online Communications Executive, take responsibility for day-to-day management of French and US digital agencies, ensuring they maximise Marketing Campaign Calendar, as well as developing market-specific activity.
  • Proactively build and developstrong relationships with all key home decor contacts in all named markets, also considering the broader media landscape of lifestyle, fashion etc, significantly increasing PR coverage YOY and optimising advertising investment.
  • Work with other members of the marketing team to effectively develop and implement ideas for the communications aspect of marketing campaigns, effectively communicating the campaign messages to all online and offline media contacts.
  • Work with the Communications team to develop and execute media partnership activity in the UK – events, advertorial, competitions, brand partnerships etc.
  • With specific responsibility for the named markets, develop the annual communications budget, reviewing actual and forecasts monthly to ensure activities remain in line with brand strategy and within agreed budgets. Ensure budget tracker is kept up-to-date to aid Communications Manager with reforecasting and budgeting.
  • Effective management ofthe Junior Communications Executive, empowering them with key projects and specific objectives to help their personal and career development
  • Working effectively within the communications team and wider marketing team,giving clear strategic communications direction and objectives, striving for excellence and empowering and motivating team members.
