Purpose of Job

On March 14th and 15th, Business in the Community will run a Responsible Business Convention at the Business Convention Centre in Islington. As part of the large scale event we will be running our Annual Employers’ Forum for reducing re-offending event as a fringe to the Convention at the end of day one. We expect a group of over 100 business delegates to attend the fringe event.

The Event co-ordinator will develop and deliver the communications and logistics related to the event. The eventsco-ordinator will be supported by the Campaign Manager throughout the process. In addition the events co-ordinator will help to organise and promote smaller regional workshops and will support the wider communications strategy for the Employers’ Forum as appropriate.

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Events

  • Support the Employers’ Forum for Reducing Re-offending Annual Event
  • Generate booking forms and promotional materials (eg. flyers) for Annual Event
  • Recruit delegates for Annual Event
  • Work in collaboration with BITC Responsible Business Convention to cross-reference event with proceedings of the Convention
  • Support Campaign manager with recruitment of speakers and contributors to Annual Event
  • Co-ordinate literature/delegate pack for the Annual Event
  • Co-ordinate the logistics for the Annual Event
  • Use salesforce (our CRM database) to manage and record all activity
  • Generate feedback survey and circulate to delegates
  • Explore how salesforce can be used to track activity and engagement – particularly following event
  • Contribute to the development of speaker briefs and all other written materials for the Annual Event
  • Create booking form, recruit delegates and create delegate pack for other smaller regional workshops

Support internal engagement and communications

  • Update account managers on Annual Event
  • Work with account managers to recruit delegates to the Annual Event

Support external communications

  • Ensure the website is maximised as a tool to communicate the Reducing Re-offending agenda, including regular updates on news and case studies
  • Raise the profile of BITC as an authoritative voice on responsible business issues in Reducing Re-offending
  • Send out updates to Forum members

Wider campaign support

  • Help to develop a list of employer-friendly prisons/probation services with a description of the current employer relationships they manage and the type of employer relationships they would welcome
  • Work with the wider Work Inclusion team to ensure that Reducing Re-offending messages and activity are incorporated in internal and external communications
