JOB TITLE:Receptionist/Information Specialist

REPORTS TO:Chamber Executive Director

HOURS:This position is 40 hours a week with occasional evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY:The position requires exemplary customer service skills. This person is often the first point of contact for all Chamber customers and a positive first impression is crucial. Duties include answering requests for information, filing, database input and management, extensive computer use, event support, administrative tasks that improve the productivity of other staff members and general office work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Greeting and assisting Chamber members and guests that call or come into the office for information and business purposes.
  2. Tracking and fulfilling all requests — via e-mail, telephone, in person or in writing — for information ontourist opportunities, relocation, hunting, and area businesses.
  3. Using all available resources to fulfil requests for information. As the information center, types of request vary significantly and successful candidates must have research skills, particularly internet research.
  4. Balancing cash draw at the end of the business day.
  5. Maintaining the Chamber’sInternet-based membership database and communicating changes to other staff members.
  6. Generating computerized monthly and annual activity reports as well others as requested.
  7. Maintaining an adequate and accurate filing system of the inner workings of the Chamber.
  8. Maintaining brochure displays and inventory for the Moffat County Visitors Center.
  9. Working with the Chamber staff in a close team environment, assisting each other as necessary.
  10. Collecting and inputting events accurately, with an emphasis on correct syntax, spelling and grammar.
  11. Provide support for special Chamber events, both in advance and during the event.
  12. Light cleaning on a regular basis.
  13. Assist the Executive Director with projects when requested and assigned.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellent phone and verbal communication skills, a consistently friendly demeanor, proficient office skills and strict attention to detail. Position requires significant computer usage; proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs is highly recommended.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent required.Higher education or vocational training in computers, office management, or similar field is useful. Candidate is expected to have taken general business and/or computer courses and/or have 2 years experience in related field.

PERSONAL: Position requires an interest in and knowledge of the Craig business community, activities and events taking place in the MoffatCounty area and scenic attractions. Individual must have the ability to work in a close team environment, have a pleasant, positive and friendly attitude. An interest in improving business conditions for Craig and MoffatCountyresidents is important.
