Job Title: PT Floating Supervisor

Reporting to : General Manager
Main location: Clapham Common (but covering shops across SW London)
Job Purpose:The Floating Supervisor’s role is to work with shop supervisors and volunteer teams to maximise the sales across all shopsthrough initiative, imagination, community engagementand social media in order that we can raise more funds for local people with HIV.
Key Responsibilities

Merchandising the Store

Management and motivation of the volunteer teams when on duty in each shop. This includes:
Assisting the shop supervisor with record keeping on all volunteers
Regular meetings with the volunteers and other shop supervisors/lead volunteers, as appropriate, to hear their ideas and address any issues
Volunteer recruitment in conjunction with shop supervisors
‘On the Job’ training of all volunteers
Wellbeing of all volunteers
Upholding the values of Wandsworth Oasis and its diversity policy
Supporting the Shop Supervisors with health and safety management (including first aid) to ensure we comply with all the standards on an ongoing basis.
Opening up/closing/cashing up as required by shops rotas.
Upholding the company policies on waste management and recycling. This includes ensuring all volunteers are aware of our current processes and liaison with the General Manager regarding removal of waste from the premises in an efficient and cost effective way.
Display. Work with the volunteer team to display items to their maximum advantage. Ensure all ‘national holidays’ and other days are promoted in the window or inside the shops.
Storage. Ensure the storage areas are tidy and accessible at all times.
Implement the company pricing policy for the shops whilst maximising the overall income for Wandsworth Oasis. This may mean that some items are rotated to other shops, irrespective of where they have been donated, if they will raise more money elsewhere. Some items will also be held back for events and for specialist evaluation.
Participation in local events. Support the events management team when events are arranged in the local area.
Partnership development. Over time develop relationships in the local area with businesses who can support the growth of Wandsworth Oasis in conjunction with the Chief Executive.

A demonstrable understanding of high street fashion and the value of other items, or an ability to research it

Ability to work on own initiative, with often only telephone access to manager
Empathy for others
