JOB TITLE: Project Officer, Digital Development Consultation (8 month Fixed Term Contract)
- MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To assist in the coordination and delivery of Samaritans Digital Consultation within the timescales and budget agreed and to the business outcomes specified.
- POSITION IN ORGANISATION
Reports into: Digital Project Manager
Works closely with: Communications team, Fundraising Team
Liaises with: General Office staff, volunteers and external agencies, members of the public.

Assist in the coordination and delivery of consultation activities, including liaising with stakeholders
Ensure effective communications about the consultation
Support to the ProjectManager with reporting and administration
- QUALIFICATIONS
Degree level qualification or equivalent is desirable
- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
Demonstrable experience of planning, supporting and running consultation/stakeholder engagement work
Experience of undertaking surveys and interacting with stakeholder groups online
Proven ability to produce concise and high quality analysis and reports
Proven ability to write effectively for a range of audiences
Demonstrable experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholder groups
Knowledge and understanding of social media and the online environment
Strong administrative experience
A positive attitude to change and demonstrable ability to problem solve in a creative and positive way.
Good IT skills, specifically competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.Ability to prioritise tasks and competing timeframes.
Good presentation skills and ability to deliver presentations to a range of audiences.
Desirable
Experience with using online communities and social media to engage stakeholders
Experience of facilitating focus groups
Understanding of mental health and suicide and some of the challenges presented by the online environment is desirable
Experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage.
An understanding of Samaritans organisation is desirable.

DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the coordination and delivery of consultation activities
Manage the recruitment of consultation participants including monitoring the consultation email inbox
Liaise with partner organisations to engage them in consultation activities
Liaise with external agency to ensure online and offline focus groups delivered
Plan and implement other consultation methodologies as required
Monitor responses to consultation to ensure sufficient responses are received
Ensure effective communications about the consultation
Support the drafting of consultation materials including topic guides, blog posts and surveys
Prepare and disseminate information about the consultation to internal and external stakeholders
Answer external and internal enquiries about the consultation
Support to the Project Manager with reporting and administration
Manage the collation of responses including comments on blog posts and email feedback
Support the PM with analysis of data, including results of surveys and focus groups
Contribute to report writing
Arrange meetings, prepare papers and write up actions points as necessary.
General Duties of a Samaritans’ Staff Member
Contribute to the effective and efficient running of the General Office as appropriate.
Participate, as appropriate, in Staff forums and Meetings.
Adhere to Samaritans’ Polices and Procedures that are in effect from time to time.
Represent the General Office appropriately across the movement and Samaritans to the wider community as appropriate.
