Job Title: Programs Capacity Intern
Status: Internship, 6 month, 10 hr/week commitment
Salary/Wage Grade: Unpaid or for credit
Reports to: Programs Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
As a Programs Capacity Intern you will serve as a liaison between our food bank and the many community organizations we work closely alongside. Your work will encompass office tasks as well as time in the field at local food programs throughout the county, evaluating the capacity of each partner agency to efficiently and effectively serve clients, and assessing how FSD can better support its partners in hunger relief efforts. You will speak directly with a wide and diverse range of agency staff, volunteers, and clients, and become knowledgeable about food program successes and the specific challenges that are faced by food programs of different sizes, with different resources, and in different geographical areas. Your collected data and findings will be used to create a need-assessment report and recommendations for Feeding San Diego as we continue to grow the capacity of our partner agencies and improve the quality of services we provide. You will be responsible for assisting the Programs Coordinator with maintaining positive agency relationships, tracking individuals served through FSD partner agencies each month, and ensuring agency compliance with Feeding America guidelines. This internship is an excellent opportunity for people interested in non-profit capacity building and relationship building.
