Job Outline:

To provide efficient support to the business through the logistics of material movements and transactions, working in any of the areas within stores including Bonded Store, Optical Store, Land Store, Consumable Store, Goods Inward or Despatch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To receive components, checking paperwork and quantities are correct and storing them within the relevant carousel /racking.
  • To issue components / kits against MRP Requirements
  • To update the AX system when issuing and receiving components / kits, and adjusting stock Locations as appropriate.
  • To pack and despatch product, material and other items as required to meet business needs.
  • To partake in perpetual inventory checks and transact any necessary stock adjustments.
  • To ensure the best stock turnover/rotation by utilising FIFO(First in First Out) methods.
  • To operate to agreed standards in handling goods for air freight.

Personal Specification:

Applicants for these positions will be required to work in Goods Inward, Consumable Store, Bonded Store, Optical Store, and/or Despatch as required to meet the business needs. A willingness and flexibility, often at short notice, to undertake an extensive range of tasks within any of the Departments referenced above is essential.

Applicants will need to have the following:

  • Good working knowledge of general stores procedures (receipts, kitting, despatching etc)
  • A good level of education, preferably including good results in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent).
  • The ability to understand and work to specifications.
  • A background of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working as part of a team with a minimum of supervision.
  • Proven attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • A good level of computer literacy would be desirable for this role.

It would be advantageous for candidates to have:

  • Experience of stock taking, and/or knowledge of Inventory Management and Production Control computer systems
  • Experience of handling of fragile components
  • A valid Fork Lift Truck licence
