JOB TITLE:Maintenance Assistant

RESPONSIBLE TO:Facilities Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR:External contractors (in the absence of the Facilities Manager)

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:Head of Operations, Head of Production (Stage), Head of Production (Rep), Heads of Department (Production department), Senior Management Team, Duty Managers, Kitchen Manager, and Contractors

JOB BRIEF:

The Maintenance Assistant reports directly to the Facilities Manager. The Maintenance Assistant carries out day-to-day repairs in plumbing, basic electrical, joinery, decorating, grounds maintenance, and oversees contractors whilst they are on site.

The duties of the Maintenance Assistantincludesomecleaning and grounds clearing, in the form of litter picking and gardening work.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Administration
  2. Ensure accurate records of daily work
  3. Re-order supplies within agreed budgets
  4. Avoid wastage in work in order to help control procurement costs
  1. Environmental
  2. Be sensitive to environmental impacts whilst assessing and carrying out job tasks
  3. Support the Facilities Manager and the Environmental Committee to meet the organisation’s sustainability targets
  4. Assist in auditing and recording the Company’s environmental performance
  1. Health and Safety
  2. Ensure that safe and effective working practices are carried out when undertaking duties
  3. Oversee safe working practices of external contractors whist they are on site
  4. Assist with deep cleaning duties, as required
  1. Maintenance
  2. Perform repairs and general maintenance throughout the Company premises in accordance with local procedures
  3. Carry out planned preventative maintenance works
  4. Identify and gain approval for additional required works, as necessary
  5. Carry out maintenance of the external grounds and car parks, including lighting
  6. Carry out painting and decorating works
  7. Carry out general glazing repairs
  8. Carry out repairs to doors and locks
  9. Carryout basic electrical repairs and work

Qualities & Skills

Essential

  • Previous experience in similar role
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Hold a valid UK driving License
  • Physically fit and able to carry out an active role
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
  • Able to work at heights
  • General knowledge of HVAC
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety guidelines
  • Basic knowledge of working with Electricity

Desirable

  • At least one qualification in Electrical, Plumbing, or Joinery
  • Experience in PAT testing
  • Experience in tiling and grouting works
