Meet the planner

Shandra Cornelia, is a Certified Wedding and Event planner, and has a Bachelor in International Hospitality & tourism Management.

Shandra was born on the island of Curaçao, and has lived, worked or studied abroad in the Netherlands, the US and the Bahamas. She has over 6 years of experience working in the events and hospitality industry.

She has helped organize destination weddings in the Bahamas, worked as an event coordinator for a Destination management company and in Catering event sales on the island of Curaçao.

Shandra speaks English, Spanish and Dutch fluently in addition to her native language Papiamentu. Her language skills make it easy for her to communicate and liaison with different vendors in different destination; which is why she is the perfect person to help you arrange your event in a destination with local vendors.

She has a great eye for décor & style, is detail oriented, outgoing, approachable, pragmatic and passionate about events.

Meeting process

Client meetings will be held at a restaurant or coffee place until we have a physical office, and we will offer complimentary coffee and pastry.

Cancellation Policy

In the event the services of the Wedding Planner are no longer

Required (cancellation of the wedding, etc.); a percentage of the

PLEASE NOTE ALL DOCUMENTS NEED TO BE HANDED IN TO THE CIVIL REGISTRY AT A MINIMUM OF TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Steps: Documentation Process/ Requirements for Curaçao’s Civil Registry

• Send a cover letter addressed to the civil registry as a marriage petition with your wish to get married.

Letter should state:

Desire to get married in Curaçao

Name of the venue with date and time of the wedding

Bridal couples name and signatures with copies of passports

Six witnesses must be present for the actual on location ceremony.

All witnesses must provide:

Copies of theirspassports or drivers licenses

Must be older then 21 years of age

Original documents of the below need to be presented with the proper certified Apostille seal, and documents shouldn’t be older then one year.

Original Birth certificates of the couple bearing the signature of the State Registrar and can be obtained at the Division of Vital Statistics

 Single Paper of the couple notarized (unmarried status) by the civil registry

Certified copy of the divorce decree (if applicable) or if you need a certificate stating that you did not remarry after your divorce or after you became a widow (er)

After all documents are sent to the civil registry in Curaçao, they will follow up by sending a mail approving your request for getting married.

When you arrive to the island a cash payment of $307.58 will need to be paid to the civil registry in Antillean guilders in the amount of 547.50.

Wedding Party Checklists

Maid of honor

  • Go with bride to look for her gown, if she ask, and help shop for the bridesmaids’ dresses.
  • Schedule dress fitting and carry out any other tasks assigned by the bride.
  • Get the bridesmaids on point for hair and make-up.
  • Be by her side at the altar.
  • Prepare a toast to the bride and groom.

Best Man

  • Get any payments to the efficient, musician, or other participants from the groom.
  • Help the groom get dress
  • Take charge of the ring(if no ring bear)
  • Make sure the groom has the marriage license with him.
  • If there is a ring bear, check in to make sure the child knows what he needs to do.
  • Escort the maid of honor down the aisle.
  • Stand by the groom’s side while waiting for the ceremony to start.

Bridesmaids

  • Offer to help with pre-wedding tasks.
  • Scout out bridesmaid dresses, shoes, jewels, and other accessories.
  • Run last minute errands.
  • Be on time for make-up
  • Be a trooper, no matter how stressful the ordeal becomes.

Groomsmen and Usher

  • Being on hand throughout the wedding day, and keeping an eye on proceeding.
  • Handing out of service sheets to guests when they arrive and leading them to their seats.
  • Letting guests know, on arrival, about any photographic or phone restrictions.
  • Escorting the groom’s parents and the mother of the bride to their seat.
  • Ensuring guests know where to go after the ceremony.
  • Giving the ceremony officiate the fee or donation.
  • Be on time for photo.
  • Obtain all necessary travel documents for honeymoon.
  • Scout out hotels for out-of-town guest.
  • Arrive at ceremony site at least 1 hour early.
  • Bring marriage license to ceremony site.
  • Stand to the left of the bride in the receiving line.

Flower Girl

  • Attends rehearsal with parent
