Job Title: Learning Facilitator
Reporting to: Personal Development, Behaviour & Welfare Co-ordinator

1. Purposeof the Role:

Meeting the standards for teaching and support of learning in further education, the post holder will contribute to the design and delivery of cross curriculum tutorials and workshops ensuring that the content is appropriate to meet the needs of students with up to date and current topics

2. Dutiesand Responsibilities:

a)Ensure that delivery of sessions are interactive, informative and meet the needs of students and current topics across the sector

b)Contribute to the planning and content of all the tutorial and workshop sessions in collaboration with students services and Directors of Curriculum

c)Plan and develop sessions to include effective study skills, mentoring, personal organisation and revision techniques working as part of the teaching team to embed effective support and collaboration to ensure the learner experience is of high quality

d)Work across academic & vocational areas to ensure content and support offered to students is specific, relevant and effective in enabling them to reach their potential

e)Participate in regular reviews with teaching staff, staff and managers to measure student progress, contribution and participation

f)Attend meetings with relevant curriculum teams to discuss students’ progress and feedback as appropriate

g)Support tutors to maximise attendance through attendance monitoring and communicating with appropriate curriculum teams and support services as appropriate

h)Ensure you are fully up to date with tutorial content by conducting research, engaging external agencies where possible to provide expertise in the delivery of the tutorials

i)Support students in class towards their learning goals in a flexible and inclusive manner. This includes asking students to update their eILPs and portfolios as appropriate

j)Record attendance and progress using College systems as required
