Job Title:Human Resources Manager Department:Human Resources

Reports To:GM Human Resources Current as of: 03/13

Job Purpose:This position provides support for managing employees relations and other Human Resources Unit Managers; active involvement in new hire orientation, employee relations and other Human Resources Programs. This individual will assist in organizing and managing various aspects of Human Resources development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Interpret and administer company policies and procedures
  • Provide advice and direction to operational staff on employee relations issues to ensure consistent application of policies in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Recommend changes in policies and procedures when required.
  • Act as liaison between employees and management team.
  • Compose correspondence and documentation as necessary.
  • Provide counsel to employees and management team.
  • Provide counsel to employees and maintain positive employee relations.
  • In conjunction with the Training Department, initiate training to promote staff development.
  • Approve, track and maintain standard leave of absences within the federal guidelines and company policies, i.e. FMLA, ADA.
  • Conduct new hire orientation.
  • Assist with Career Fairs and Recruiting.
  • Assist the HR Manager with unemployment correspondence as required.
  • Coordinate round table meetings with the HR Manger, President/ General Managers and employees.
  • Keep the HR GM abreast of pending employee related issues/concerns.
  • Work with employee committees to coordinate employee activities, i.e. celebrations, to promote employee morale, anniversary/birthday celebrations, incentives, etc.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION

Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

  • Computer skills to include HR database software.
  • Positive attitude and mindset a must.
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing policies and procedures in compliance with State and Federal regulation.
  • 2+ years previous as Human Resource Generalist or Administrator
  • High comfort level responding rapidly to management requirements.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methods with skill in goal setting and performance improvement.
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency, ownership and accountability; be proactive; strategic planning; high integrity, competence, willingness to take risks and complete tasks.

Education:

  • BA/BA in Human Resources Management required.
  • PHR is a plus, not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Factory environment with noise from manufacturing environment. Exposure to moving equipment, parts and electrical shock. Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
