Job Title : FosteringTeam Manager

Responsible to : Registered Manager

Job Summary :

To provide day to day management and support to supervising socialworkers.

The post holder will take a proactive lead in the recruitment of foster carers and the assessment process

To oversee the effective and timelycompletion of Form F assessments and management of independent assessors.

Support, supervision and review the progress of our foster carers.

Take an active lead and management of referrals and ensure appropriately matched conversion to placements.

The post holder will oversee the day to day functioning of the office, manage the team and promote and develop the service.

To effectively provide leadership and direction across staff and carers in the NW region

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Management of ourManchester office of Foster Cares Ltd
  • Ensuring all staff meet the requirements of their job as detailed in the job descriptions in accordance with Agency expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that services are delivered in line with The Fostering Services: National Minimum Standards 2011 and legal requirements of the Fostering Services Regulations2011 and The Children Acts 1989 & 2004
  • Ensure the service complies with our regulatory responsibilities as set out by OFSTED, prepare and participate in inspections
  • Co-ordinate the recruitment, training and assessment of prospective foster carers
  • Promote the work of the agency with local authorities attending reviews and meetings as necessary.
  • To form and maintain good working relationships with our Local Authority customers, attend meetings and negotiate on the Agency behalf to promote business growth
  • Recruit, manage and allocate a bank of Form F assessors to ensure timely completion of assessments
  • Promote the work of the agency at an area level in conjunction with the Agencies wider development plans.
  • Provide professional supervision for Supervising social workers and administrative staffon a monthly basis ensuring practice complies with Agency policy and procedures.
  • Ensure the effective management of placement referrals to ensure placement growth
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of young people placed through the agency.
  • Carry out staff appraisals on an annual basis and complete probationary reports as appropriate
  • In conjunction with the Registered Manager and Managing Director, identify need andassist in the development and implementation of training programs for staff and carers.
  • Maintain up to date and effective written and electronic records as requiredand appropriate monitoring processes
  • Ensure all information in relation to regulation 42 is recorded, responded to and monitored on a regular basis
  • Plan ,prepare and manage team meetings, ensuring minutes are taken and distributed
  • Ensure the Registered Manageris informed of issues relating to the service
  • To work in conjunction with the Registered Manager to ensure standardization and quality of service
  • Attend meetings at Head office and /or Manchester as required
  • Co-ordinate and provide student placements within the service
  • Any other duties deemed relevant to the post and reasonable by the Registered Manager or Managing Director
  • To participate on a on call duty system
