JOB TITLE: Sales Support

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: General Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinate creation of accurate estimates, enter orders, and coordinate deliveries

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Customer Relationship Management

a)Advise customers of building techniques, products and services which will add value or reduce building costs

b)Assist in Scherer Brothers customer entertainment and education functions

c)Visit job sites as required to measure for windows and/or trim

d)Work to resolve issues and answer customer requests for information in a timely manner

e)Ability to meet demands of the customer as well as complete job estimates under time constraints

  1. Materials Estimating/Order Management
  2. Consult with customers, vendors, home designers, and personnel in other divisions to gatherinformation used to formulate accurate estimates
  3. Calculate materials required from blueprints, prepare material lists and enter into computer, with heavy emphasis on interior millwork and window estimating.
  4. Print estimates and review with senior sales and customers
  5. Use appropriate vendor software to determine proper structural materials and products with working knowledge of window vendor programs such as Marvin OMS and Andersen IQ as well as others.
  6. Obtain pricing and create orders for stock and special order products
  7. Coordinate orders to maximize lead times and minimize low dollar deliveries
  8. Utilize software tools to compare estimated quantities and values to actual invoice totals as required
  9. Work with team members to determine strategy for increasing sales revenues and margins

  1. Attend product training sessions as required to maintain current knowledge of industry and product offerings that will best meet customer needs
  2. Promote and support Continuous Improvement initiatives; follow Standard work as it applies to your work area and functions
  3. Seek input from team to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions

  1. Demonstrate a commitment to Scherer Bros. safety policies and principles
  2. Complete Computerized Based Training (CBT) as required
  3. Increase knowledge and awareness of safety for yourself and others throughout the workplace and at jobsites
  4. Report all safety concerns, hazards and incidents
  5. Follow ergonomically correct standards in personal workspace
  6. Promote safety and wellness initiatives including willingness to participate on the Safety Committee

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum of5 yearscombined experience in Residential construction in more than one of the following areas:
  2. Estimating/drafting
  3. Retail lumber sales and/or operations
  4. Framing/trimming/jobsite experience
  5. Vocational/Technical training in drafting or estimating

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing)
  2. Ability to read and interpret construction spec sheets and blueprints
  3. Mathematical aptitude
  4. Ability to fully utilize internal and external software tools (Microsoft Office, Point of Sale system, vendor systems, etc.).
  5. Understanding of building codes related to product offerings
  6. Ability to make decisions, problem solve and work independently
  7. Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  8. Assist other employees and departments as directed and needed
  9. Alignment with Scherer Bros. vision, values, and operating principles
  10. Demonstrate a positive company image in attitude, dialogue and appearance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Sit for long periods of time
  2. Repetitive use of fingers/keyboarding skills

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Majority of work occurs indoors in an office environment
  2. Occasionally exposure to extreme temperaturesand weather-related conditions at jobsites
