Essential Functions:

Responsible for administration and monitoring of client relationships and associated transactions in the Banc of America Public Capital Corporation Energy Services (“BAPCC ES”) portfolio. Such activities will include the periodic financial statement and credit review of our ES clients, monitoring construction progress, and monitoring the credit profile of key transaction counterparties (i.e. our Energy Services Company (“ESCO”) partners). With respect to the latter, it is anticipated that the Credit Officer will maintain a database on these counterparties.

A key element of the Credit Officer’s role will be to perform the monitoring requirements outlined in Credit Policy. This will include the preparation of client status reviews and risk rating scorecards, as well as troubled asset reports. The Credit Officer will also assist in responding to information requests on the portfolio from senior Credit and Risk management.

In executing these duties, the Credit Officer will interact with BAPCC ES Credit Underwriting and Transaction Management, BAL Contracts Management, as well as credit associates in BAML Public Sector Banking. The Credit Officer will also interact directly with our clients in the context of routine administration and financial performance discussions, as well as to address any issues that may develop with individual transactions. The latter may also involve discussions with our ESCO partners. The Credit Officer will report to the Portfolio Management Credit Manager.

Required Education:

Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting; MBA preferred

Prior Work Experience:

6-8 years of experience in commercial banking, leasing, or finance industry with significant credit and secured equipment finance experience. Familiarity with municipal and institutional finance and credit analysis is essential. Exposure to Federal leasing would be a plus. Preference is for an individual who has had portfolio responsibility for a substantial number of clients/transactions at one time.

Required Skills:

  • Good experience inmunicipal and institutional (and, ideally,commercial and large corporate) credit analysis. Some familiarity with construction monitoring, ideally in the energy efficiency and solar generation spheres.
  • Strong credit and risk analysis skills. Good aptitude to understand elements of complex transaction structures.
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret transaction documentation. Familiarity with leasing structures and documentation is a plus.
  • Strong ability to work efficiently and productively in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients.
  • Clear and articulate oral and written communication skills
  • Computer skills; very comfortable with applications such as Word and Excel. Aptitude for other internal and web based computer applications.
  • Results oriented; is able to meet deadlines.
