Job Title: Development Assistant

Job Summary: Aid in the success ofFull Life Care’s mission as a key member of thefund development team. Responsible for timely, accurate, and innovative management of Full Life’s fundraising data and related work activities.

Reports To:Development Manager

FLSA Status:Non-exempt

Part Time (approx. 22 hours per week)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the job:

  1. Keep accurate and comprehensive recordsof all aspects of Full Life Care’s development activities and donor base, in electronic and hard files;
  2. Manage contents of fundraising database;
  3. Prepare and send timely, accurate gift acknowledgement letters;
  4. Monitor and maintain online and workplace giving channels;
  5. Ensure timely, accurate reconciliation of all donations in concert with the Accounting team;
  6. Generate and prepare complex donor, gift, and event reports routinely and by request;
  7. Create and maintain cash receipt logs and gift batches, in electronic and hard form;
  8. Establish and evolve a strong command of all information needed for a successful development program including but not limited to: donations, constituent information, grant proposal activities, event records, relationships, notes, etc.;
  9. In collaboration with the development team, identify and carry out special projects to clean up and enhance historical data and our future capacity for gathering and housing desired information;
  10. Brainstorm, research, and implement new ideas to increase efficiency and effectiveness;
  11. Exercise excellent judgment, accept responsibility, and give very careful attention to detail;
  12. Pursue knowledge and excel in software systems, fundraising strategy, customer service, and customer relationship management.
  13. Exhibit a positive demeanor and ability to interact with diverse groups and individuals. Project a professional manner and appearance appropriate to the audience;
  14. Excellent oral and written communication skillsvia multiple channels. Able to discern what is appropriate, and communicate accordingly with poise and confidence;
  15. Able to work under stress and be adept and eager when tight deadlines arise.
  16. Work closely with the Development Manager to support various aspects of Full Life’s development strategy, including fundraising events, direct mail, grant writing, donor stewardship and cultivation;

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS of the job:

  1. Complete tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor;
  2. Flexibility to work few evenings and weekends throughout the year as needed.

REQUIRED Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree;
  2. One to two years’ experiencein a professional work environment.(A combination of employment, internships, and work-study experience is acceptable.)
  3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  4. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) and/or relational databases.
  5. Curiosity; integrity; genuine interest in problem solving;and a commitment to quality and efficiency in one’s work and that of the team.
  6. Interest and concern for Full Life Care’s mission and community.

PREFFERRED Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of SQL;
  2. Familiarity with nonprofit development record keeping and best practices.

Physical Requirements Needed to perform the Duties of the job:

  1. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
  2. Must be able to operate a computer and spend duration of work shift viewing a computer screen.
