SUMMARY:This position is responsible for the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of all assigned services administered through the KernCounty Division. The Program Coordinator directs, administers, and manages the activities of the assigned departmentsin support of the policies, goals, and objectives established by the Director of Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Under the direction oftheDirector of Program Services, develops policies, procedures, workflow processes, and measurable goals for the department. Develops and implements procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow.
  • Determines department structure; staff positions, levels, schedules, and workflow. Adjusts work schedules and staffing levels to ensure that organization goals are met efficiently.
  • Monitors, documents, and reports on the performance of the assigned departments and on progress toward established objectives.
  • Keeps informed regarding both internal and external issues that affect the day to day operations of the assigned departments.
  • Evaluates department processes and makes changes to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and performance of the departments.
  • Manages operating expenses and capital expenditures within the approved budget.
  • Ensures that all department activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business and community care operations. Oversees compliance with applicable regulations, in particular the D.O.L. sub-minimum wage regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring all work sites are in compliance with PathPoint safety standards and safety program. Actively participates as a member of the Kern Division Safety Committee.
  • Actively participates as a member of the management team of Kern Division.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and within the organization’s personnel policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and conflict resolution.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university. Master’s degree preferred. Must have at least four years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisor experience required. Must be familiar with Federal and State regulations as they apply to general employment and supported employment, Titles 17 and 22 as they apply to day andresidential programs and Community Care Licensing.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must demonstrate excellent oral and writtencommunication

skills. Must have good computer skills. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training, Core and Supervisor training and other PathPointtraining as required. Must have a valid California driver’s license, clean DMV and must receive criminal clearance from the DOJ. Must be able to drive/transport individuals for program purposes.
