Job title:Corporate Fundraising Assistant

Reporting to:Head of Fundraising

Salary:£19,380

Location:Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2A 2LL

Purpose of the job:

Working with the Corporate Fundraiser to generate corporateincome for the PSU

Main duties:

1. Apply to regional companies for funding and support for the PSU

1.1. Undertake desk and phone research on potential new corporate supporters to identify for what funding and by what manner they might best be approached, and to make and/or support approaches for funding

1.2 Draft text for applications based on templates and statistical information

1.3Responsibility for submitting and recording allregional corporate applications

1.4 Answer queries pertaining to regional corporates

1.5 Send thank you letters and reports for regional corporate donations in a timely manner, ensuring key staff are thanked and invited to appropriate engagement activities at their regional PSU in conjunction with the Coordinator of the PSU

1.7Agree regular work plans and income targets with the Head of Fundraising

2. Work with the Corporate Fundraiser to maximise overall Corporate income, including:

2.1 Identify, apply to and steward National and London-based Corporates as required

2.2 Help identify where national relationships can become local ones and vice versa

2.3 Provide copy for the Corporate e-news to the Corporate Fundraiser and ensure regional corporates are represented, mailed and followed up

2.4 Work with the Corporate Fundraiser and Head of Fundraising to develop and market appeals

3. Develop the calendar of PSU participation events and promote to corporate partners and supporters.

3.1 Put together a calendar of events to appeal to corporate partners and supporters.

3.2 Create a marketing timetable and materials in conjunction with the fundraising team.

3.3 Promote participation events using PSU marketing channels to current and new audiences.

3.4 Steward and thank event participants, encouraging them to beat their fundraising goals and helping them to have a quality event experience.

4.Data management, including:

4.1 Ensure the integrity of regional corporate and participation eventdata in our database

4.2 Addnew regional corporate and participation event activity to the databasein line with the database manual

4.3 Correctly tag regional corporates and individuals to meet the fundraising team’s needs and identify which corporate should be sent the corporate e-news by the Corporate Fundraiser

4.5 Create monthly reports on regional corporate and participation event income

4. Support the fundraising team with administrative and fundraising support, including…

4.1 Open and process the post using the fundraising post procedure

4.2 Contribute to the administration on fundraising events or appeals, as needed by the Individual Supporter and Corporate Fundraisers

4.3 Prepare papers, invites and book rooms for fundraising meetings

5. General

5.1 Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the PSU’s equal opportunities, confidentiality, data protection and personal safety policies

5.2 As a member of the office team, act as necessary as a support to clients, volunteers and other staff on occasion and in particular to the Coordinator for the PSU at the RCJ

5.3 Undertake such other duties as the Corporate Fundraiser, or Head of Fundraising may from time-to-time reasonably require

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential requirements:

  1. Outstanding written English
  2. Outstanding social skills for both workplace and social fundraising contexts
  3. Enthusiasm, flexibility, energy and commitment
  4. Well organised and methodical
  5. Highly numerate
  6. Experience of desk research
  7. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  8. Competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel and use of email
  9. Willingness to work occasional unsocial hours
  10. Graduate calibre, or equivalent

Desirable requirements:

  1. Experience of fundraising
  2. Experience of working in the voluntary sector
  3. Understanding of databases, we use CiviCRM
  4. Understanding of the law
