Hours & duration: 3 days per week (up to 24 hour4s) for a minimum of 3 months

The Campaigns Support Intern sits within Oxfam’s Advocacy & Campaigns team.

Scope of the internship

The intern will play a vital role in helping the Campaigns Coordinator to effectively engage Oxfam supporters in our current campaigns, in particular GROW, Behind the Brands, and Food and Climate Justice.

To this end, the intern will work closely with theCampaigns Coordinator to create innovative and inspiring campaigns with a particular focus on projects / competitions for tertiary students across the country, as well as assist the Campaigns Coordinator in the delivery of other campaign activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Help create innovate and inspiring campaigns with a focus on student engagement and involvement.
  2. Provide assistance and help represent Oxfam at campaign events.
  3. Analyse the success of campaign activities in terms of campaigner engagement.
  4. Undertake other support tasks for the Advocacy & Campaigns team as appropriate.

Competencies

Qualifications, knowledge and experience:

  • An active interest in international development and social justice, and in particular an interest and understanding of the issues that Oxfam campaigns on
  • Some experience or involvement in delivering effective campaigns and/or knowledge of different campaigning approaches
  • Some experience of using social media
  • Experience and good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be useful

Structure of the internship

The Advocacy & Campaigns team will ensure that the internship provides opportunities for learning about campaigning with an international development NGO, opportunities for skills development, advice on career development issuesand regular feedback on performance.
