JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: New Life Downtown – Audio Engineer

Accountable To:New Life Downtown – Executive Pastor (Jason Jackson)

Status: Part-time. Hourly, Typically 10 hours / week

Sundays mornings from 7:00am-2:00pm, Thursday evening rehearsals

and other meetings or events as requested

Job Titles Supervised:Volunteers

Purpose: To serve New Life Downtown by engineering / mixing for worship services and worship team rehearsals as well as setting up and tearing down audio system on Sunday mornings

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with New Life Downtown Technical Director and New Life Worship Director to produce worship services
  • Engineer live audio for New Life Downtown worship services
  • Engineer live audio for New Life Downtown Worship Team rehearsals
  • Maintain New Life Downtown audio system equipment
  • Set-up and tear-down audio equipment on Sunday mornings
  • Establish good rapport with congregation, staff and volunteers
  • Train additional volunteers to run sound
  • Attend meetings with staff when requested
  • Perform other duties when requested to do so by the NLD Worship Director and Technical Director
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministries of New Life Church
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Downtown

Minimum Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s or Technical Degree preferred

Experience: 2-3 years oflive music mixing experience preferably in a Christian worship context

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Servant’s heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity
  • Demonstratedaudio engineering skills
  • Proficient computer skills including use of MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Able to work well under pressure and time constraints, utilizing multi-tasking skills and assessment of the priority of the moment in an environment of changing priorities and demands.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner
  • Positive and personable with caring and encouraging disposition
