Supervised the Purchasing, Accounting/Finance, Scheduling/Dispatch, Fleet Transport; along with Facility Maintenance, Key Account Management, Building Security, and Safety departments; with P&L responsibility of $15.3M.Team Lead in the design, development and launch of JD Edwards XP business operating software within the material control and service operations divisions.

  • Consolidated 3 satellite branch distribution centers into one central distribution facility. Maintained an open line of communication, fostering employee loyalty and maintained full operations during transitional period. Handled operational implementation, oversaw training, construction and relocation timelines and transfer of all products. Resulted in a cost savings of $1.8M annually.

AEC Corp. (d.b.a. Jerry Bassin Distributors), Coral Springs, FL Alliance Entertainment Corp. (AEC) distributes music and video items -- CDs, videos, DVDs, games, and related products -- to home entertainment retailers including Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and Hastings Entertainment with annual sales of$450M.

Director of Warehouse Operations: 1997 - 1998

Recruited, trained and motivated astaff of 350 people to achieve 75% increase in out bound order processing, (e.g. order processing, receiving, shipping and inventory control).

  • Automated distribution network using WMS, RF technology, mechanized sorting, and “Wave-Batch” Order Picking.
  • Closed/consolidated Bethel, CT, distribution center into the Coral Springs facility that achieved $20M savings annually.
  • Restructured procedures and work schedules, reduced payroll by 30 percent ($280K) while increasing throughput by 42 percent ($6.7M) on an average monthly.
