The HR Specialist for Talent Acquisition & Associate Onboardingmanages the selection process including enterprise wide project work that enhances “employer of choice” branding strategies implemented to attract and retain high quality talent to the organization.

POSITION LOCATION: LINCOLN, NE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Job Posting/Recruitment/Selection Process may include the following:

  • Create job posting announcements and determines external site to market the position
  • Coordinates the approval process for posting job openings within HR, Executive Office and Department Management
  • Train Managers on applicant tracking system
  • Evaluate applications from job candidates and screens for minimum qualification
  • Provides coaching to managers throughout the hiring process to ensure a legal valid process if followed that results in hiring top talent.
  • Coach managers pre offer to ensure compliance with Ameritas, compensation practices (hiring bonuses, relocation bonuses, starting salaries), background criteria and hiring assessments.
  • Prepare offer letters.
  • Conducts background check and recommends appropriate actions to managers when there are issues.
  • Determines appropriate assessments/tests for job candidates and interprets results.
  • Maintains official selection file for each closed job posting and coordinates related record-keeping requirements.
  • Responds to candidate inquiries and sends declination email to non selected candidates.
  • Creates and manages contracts and relationships with external
  • Manage relationships shared recruiting resources such as career boards, recruiting materials, career fairs etc.
  • Maintains applicant flow log for EEO reporting
  • Responds to requests for verification of employment on current and former associates.
  • Responds to requests for verification of unemployment benefits.
  • Creates talent acquisition reports metrics for such items as monthly recruitment metrics (hires, applications, requisitions and assessments given), headcount reports or as requested.

New Associate Process work may include:

  • Provide new associate orientation on associate’s first day. This includes completion of all applicable employment and benefit paperwork, explaining Company benefits, programs and responding to all questions.
  • Complete e-Verify check
  • Responsible for setting up any appointments needed for new hires (e.g. company photograph and ID badge)
  • Distribute and track new hire Harassment Prevention Training
  • Development of new hire materials and documents

Specific Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • 2-3 years of required experience in a Talent Acquisition role.
  • BA is preferred but not required.
  • HR certificate (PHR) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Strong understanding of the laws and regulations governing recruitment is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a fast paced customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and at least one year of experience developing EXCEL spread sheets to capture and report information. Familiarity with PowerPoint preferred. Experience with applicant tracking systems and onboarding systems helpful.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good analytical skills in comparing information to established criteria.
