JOB TITLE: Industrial Hygienist
SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Director, Environment, Safety and Health Division

MAJOR DUTIES:
- Institutes and maintains Industrial Hygiene program that recognizes and eliminates or reduces occupational health hazards and diseases.
- Provide technical guidance on evaluation and control of occupational health hazards and provide management with advisory and interpretive services on matters dealing with the Industrial Hygiene Program.
- Formulates policy for health protection from physical stresses, such as ergonomic factors.
- Administers indoor air quality, laser, hearing conservation, ergonomics, lead control, and bloodborne pathogens programs, including development and ongoing revision of procedures to reflect changes in applicable regulatory requirements and DOE directives.
- Conducts initial baseline and annual workplace surveys to identify and evaluate workplace health hazards.
- Performs workplace sampling, as needed, to determine exposure to chemical, physical and biological hazards.
- Provides employees with results of workplace monitoring for toxic materials or harmful agents.
- Develops and updates baseline inventory or hazards found in each facility occupied by WSI-SRS.
- Prescribes personal protective equipment (PPE) for specific tasks; establishes and updates PPE certifications for all area tasks.
- Assists management in developing appropriate training and educational programs.
- Writes technical reports, including requirements for workplace equipment and activities.
- Provides design review whenever new construction of facilities or processes or modifications of existing facilities or processes is planned.
- Recommends protective measures and corrective actions to reduce or eliminate health risks. Compiles and reports related data.
- Reviews and recommends controls for purchase request for hazardous materials.
- Oversees maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s).
- Prepares and develops presentations, bulletins and other information to explain requirements to employees.
- Evaluates program adequacy and progress in complying with Company policies, procedures and additional requirements identified in Standards Requirements Identification Document to recommend changes to programs and procedures to enhance workplace safety and health and reduce employee exposures to occupational hazards.
- Evaluates proposed corrective actions for adequacy and completeness; tracks approved corrective actions to completion.
- Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational, Safety and Health or other Occupational, Safety and Health discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Four yearsof experience developing, implementing and administering industrial health programs.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is desired.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desired.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Q clearance.

INTERVIEW PROCESS AND LENGTH:
Interview will last approximately 2hours and consists of the following:
- Assessment/written & practical–30 minutes
- Panel Interview – 1-1 ½ hours
- Submit an industrial hygiene related report that you are the senior/primary author on for review.
