The DSG Fund total is $51,271 for 2011-12
- Applications are due by August 31, 2011(no exceptions). Grants will be awarded and checks distributed by Oct 15, 2011.
- Projects funded by grants must adhere to one of Rotary’s six areas of focus: 1) Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution 2)Disease Prevention and Treatment 3) Water and Sanitation 4) Maternal and Child Health 5) Basic Education and Literacy 6) Economic and Community Development
- Grants will be based on local community humanitarian merit, membership participation, and plan of publicity
- Club matching funds are not required but are strongly encouraged
- Grants will be limited to Projects located within and benefiting District 7600 (International grants not allowed)
- Direct donations to nonprofit organizations will not be awarded, must have club member participation
- Grant requests cannot be for more than $3,000 per club (clubs are allowed to partner in grants to apply for larger grants)
- No more than one application per club (including joint applications with other clubs)

Progress and Final reports, including a financial statement and receipts for all expenditures will be submitted to the DSG Committee on the dates stipulated in the DRFC approval letter. I certify that all unused DSG funds will be returned to District 7600 upon completion of the project.

What is the purpose of District Simplified Grants?
The purpose of District Simplified Grants (DSG) is to help your Rotary club make a positive difference in your local community by sharing funds from The Rotary Foundation.
Where can I download the form?
You will find both the DSG Application and Final Report form on the District web site, Click on The Rotary Foundation on the left side of the home page and then click onGrants where you can download the application and final report. You can type your responses directly on the form and save the file with your changes on your computer.
How do I apply for a DSG?
Send the completed and signed form to Lee Harris, District Simplified Grants Chair. You can scan/email the application, fax the application, or mail the application. Lee’s contact information is provided on the grant application.
How much money can my club apply for?
Grant requests cannot be for more than $3,000. Many clubs apply for less than this amount. This year we have available funds of $51,271. During each of the past two years the total amount of grant funds requested by clubs was in excess of $70,000. Clubs are allowed to partner in grants to apply for larger grants.

What is required after my project is complete?
Submit a Final Report form with receipts to Lee Harris when the grant is completed. This form can also be downloaded from the district website. This report is due by June 1, 2012 but should be submitted once the grant is completed
Did you know?
Since these funds come from The Rotary Foundation, Grant Funds cannot be usedfor:
- Purchase of land or buildings.
- Construction or renovation of any structure in which individuals live, work, or engage in any gainful activity or for the renovation of structures or upgrading services to the structure. Unacceptable construction and renovation expenses include: Electrification, Windows/Doors, Walls/Roof, Carpet, Paint, Soundproofing, Heating/Air-conditioning, repair of Utilities, Plumbing, Demolition, Misc
- Administrative or operation expenses of any organization including salaries and stipends
- Post secondary education activities, research or personal or professional development
- Excessivesupport of any one beneficiary, cooperating organization or project
- Fund raising activities or expenses related to Rotary events
- Entertainment events that do not have a humanitarian element
- Donations to organizations that support purely religious functions
- Rotary signage
- To reimburse expenses incurred prior to approval of the grant, to help fund already existing projects, or to pay for activities primarily sponsored by a non-Rotary organization
